kittydesadeAfter having about two good hours yesterday and two hours of wooziness, preceded by a low-grade fever Tuesday night and a somewhat lower but still not normal temperature Wednesday morning, and then going down for a nap Wednesday afternoon after I went home early and waking up feeling even shittier than earlier, I called in and took Thursday off. Which led to a couple frantic phone calls from the aunt all "HOW DO YOU FIND ANYTHING ON THIS COMPUTER." Well, I have a vague idea how to operate a windows system made after 2000, to start with. Half the work computers, I shit you not, still run on XP. The only reason mine is upgraded to Windows 10 I think is what it's on, one of the two latest, is because my software flat-out stopped working otherwise.
But after that I was able to pretty much stretch out on the couch and not move for a while, except to get up and make lunch. So that was nice.
I did some nice new cover art for the Black Ice dime novels, which is good because the lack of uniformity was bugging me. The Blasted Lands dime novel can stay with that cover, if I do more in such a way that I'll need to change it maybe I'll change it but eh. I'm working on my writing calendar for the next month and for the next year. I need to work on the hustle, on advertising things, which is part of the whole new cover art deal. If I'm going to do the hustle I need to have stuff on my Amazon page that doesn't make me squirm awkwardly.
And apparently I am preparing to do the hustle. I've got two novels in mind that could get published next year, plus the anthology if I can finish and rewrite and edit appropriately. Which I'm starting to think I can. Plus anything else that ends up getting done and written, plus two submissions that are out right now and I have no idea what is going to happen next year. I'm slowly refining my technique. Really. And more than that, god knows what's going to happen with taxes, I have no idea what's going on with property tax and I'm going to need someone to talk me through why everyone's rushing to pay it now... Blergh. But we'll see, I guess.
Plus I've tweeted out my New Year's resolution to do the writer's hustle or I get nagged and sat on already so I can't very well go back on it, can I. Ulp. Wow that took a lot of spoons. I'll be over here in the corner of panic. Also known as the corner of QUICK DO A DIFFERENT THING SO YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU JUST ADMITTED. *flees*
