Nov. 2nd, 2017 10:24 amThat was a surprisingly easy capoeira class. For a given value of easy, but I didn't lose my breath much if at all, not outside the average of people there anyway, I was able to do most of everything except the cardio which I'm still scared of (maybe that's why I'm getting breathless outside of capoeira? maybe I need to slow down?), I didn't end up that achey. I was tired, but I'm still going to blame all last week on that. And not letting myself get enough sleep.
Nanowrimo is going terrifyingly well. I'm entirely sure this is due to 4thewords giving me incentives like 'kill the monster' rather than 'write this chapter' because it diverts my focus from 'get this right or at least as right as you can' to 'get shit written down and kill the monster.' For example, I wrote 3k words in my Nanonovel today (okay a little less than because I have good defense) solely so I could complete this quest in a few hours. They gave me 24 hours to write 3k words and I laughed at them and took my time on a few hours because I have practice, but this is still very, very good for my drafting. Plus if I can get the drafting out of the way early I can do the edits later today. Right, self? You're mostly rested and recovered from last week, you can get back to edits?
(I also found out a thing that's a bit of a cheat, which is I can copy over text into the new doc and fix things, rewrite things, so that's kind of like editing. But I try not to do that unless I really need to kickstart the writing process.)
(I also found out that doing that is a good way to kickstart the writing process in my brain.)
I still feel pretty exhausted, but it's kind of a relieved exhausted where I know I can take it easy on myself and not have to push to get this thing done in a hurry because something else is coming down the pipe. Which is sort of amazing considering it's Nanowrimo. I do need to get the Halloween decorations in, but, eh. This weekend. Put the garden away, also this weekend. And nap a lot. I intend to nap a lot in between writing type tasks.
