I seem to be having that day where I'm sort of inverse stress buying, which is to say looking at a coupon for in this case Nyx makeup and thinking "oh, that's handy, there were a couple foundations and a lip pencil I want to try" and then my brain goes NO YOU HAVE SPENT SO MUCH MONEY ALREADY YOU ARE FRIVOLOUS AND DO NOT NEED MORE MAKEUP BECAUSE YOU ARE A BAD WOMAN.

But it was birht-- FRIVOLOUS
But I budg-- WASTEFUL
But there were cou-- BAD ADULT

Fuck you brain, I have budgeted carefully for my various purchases, all but one was bought because it was on sale and I had birthday money, I have been keeping track so I don't spend outside of my birthday money, I have birthday money left and I haven't even received all of it yet and yet I have to justify myself to myself and aaaaaargh. Argh. Aargh argh argh argh aaargh. Shut up brain or I will stab you with a q-tip.

Other than that at least things seem to be going well. She said, right before the Comey story broke and everything freaking exploded. Oy.

I mean, if you want I can yell at you to just buy the make-up already? (Kidding! That's never a good thing.)

I just bought a Nyx smokey palette to see if I like it enough to buy a more expensive Urban Decay smokey palette, and the one thing I'm sad about is that their sparkle eye shadow isn't as SPARKLE as Urban Decay.

At some point I should really get me a normal person palette, preferably with a number of colors, to see if I enjoy those as much as I enjoy the 70s Glam ALL! THE! GLITTER! of most of my loose powder eyeshadows. But yeeess. Sparkly eyeshadows are a good thing, people!

Hopefully the smokey one is a dupe? I'm assuming these are different palettes. ;)

It's a fairly limited dupe of the Urban Decay Naked Smokey palette. Less colors, and much lesser cost. I'm experimenting with an $8 palette first before I blow $50 and discover that I hate smokey eyes! (I discovered I don't.)

I'm terrible with loose powder eyeshadows, though. I just get them all over everywhere. Including my chest. I feel like a clown!

Seems reasonable! And a lot of the makeup, although you have to pick and choose and research, can be duplicated at least mostly for much less cost anyway.

Loose powder shadows do have a REALLY steep learning curve. I think I'm just now getting the hang of them and it took me about a year. But now I really really love the look they create! (And now I'm going backwards to well maybe I should try normal person palettes. Oops.)
