Life goals met
... I don't have too many life goals met yet. Then again, my other one: Own a horse (preferably Friesian) is also my last. So. Heh. Maybe I should aim higher? Still. That's not bad.
Next up: Get a book published.
Regular Goals met:
1. Get a job. Okay, pathetic as it sounds, yes. I now have a part-time permanent job. If I so choose I imagine I could spend the rest of my life working at this job (HAH!) But at least it pays the rent.
2. Make local friends. HAH! Finally. It only took me two years to make some local friends of my own. I need to get out more.
3. Do Nano. Easy.
Failed Goals:
1. Submit at least once per month. Gyah, I slacked off so much from... June on. I shall try to do better this year. Really try. It'll help to have a job, have some money and not be worrying about that, have my wrists not falling off. I have all the tools. I have shitloads of stuff, and I could probably spend all of next year editing and submitting old stories. I shouldn't.
2. Write 1,000,000 words in the year. That's a Forward Motion goal. I think I started it somewhere int he middle of the year. We'll see how far I get this year.
The following people have impacted my life in some important manner this year:
(in no particular order)
My grandfather. Because he bought me the laptop and the dictate program with which I will no longer torture my hands and wrists. Also my family in general, because they are so immensely supportive of my desire to be a writer for a living, and of my writing in general. The more I look around my friends and my friends list, the more grateful I am to have such a wonderful family.
My boyfriend. Because. Just because. Because he is the ultimate and. And. I have no words. Just because.
vespurrs and alryssa. My new local friends. GIRLS! I have friends who are GIRLS! Who knew? You guys are the greatest. We need to get together again sometime soon. Coffee and cheesecake and bohemian decadence at Barnes and Nobles, if it is indeed possible to be bohemian and decadent there. My treat.
cruelest_month. Because of everything.
I also got in touch with a bunch of old college friends. I love you guys. And I miss you terribly.
For those of you who have been helping/following along in my mad dash to the finish of a bunch of query packages: I am done with the first three chapters of both fucking novels! And I am going out to the NYE party. I'll finish posting them on the writing journalpawprintletters and then you can watch me panic about query letters later. But. This is a great weight off my mind, shoulders, hands, and sanity. Woot.

- Get published. May 20, 2004. I get my first acceptance letter of my life. One of my short stories is being published in a small-press mag; I got the letter the day after my birthday, too. What a wonderful birthday present that was.
