kittydesadeWell, that was... a weekend. I did Saturday capoeira (and ended up doing some instructing which was kind of terrifying, Puck was all "Here you get them started I'll go change" and I was all "!!!!!") and then I worked for three hours. Well, technically in terms of physical labor I walked about a mile under hot sun, then sat for about twenty minutes and drank almost a liter of water, then worked mostly on my feet for three hours, then took the bus/walked home. And then I spent most of the rest of that day flat, and then a good chunk of Sunday flat before starting to wrangle the Murderboarding website. I'm not sure really what to do about any of it, although a partial solution is a) not to forget my water bottle at home for class (i have another one at work) and b) just slowly work back into better shape, which I am doing over time. I was out for about three weeks due to one thing or another.
Still annoying. Especially when I had a realization of how much I haven't done on my various writing projects over the last couple of months. Which, really, I constantly overestimate how much I can do around my day job so this shouldn't come as a surprise every time it does over the last several years. The problem is it's punctuated by just enough periods of super-activity to make me think I can sustain that pace the whole time. Ugh.
On the plus side, I think we may have a plan to address the Murderboarding hosted on our own site thing. I think. I hope? I hope it works out. Also I may have tripped and fallen into CodeAcademy, which means of course that I'm going to be spending an absurd amount of time learning PHP and Java and maybe Ruby and who the fuck knows what else, because once that part of my brain lights up it's very hard to turn it off again. Fortunately I only really need to know PHP to fuck around with Wordpress. The rest can go at a slower pace and just be for my own amusement.
Not much else happened this weekend because of the aforementioned going flop. I don't think I have much else planned in general, except the stupid dentist appointment on the 16th and the equally stupid but also equally necessary chimney people the.. 7th and 8th? 8th and 9th? Something like any of that. On the plus side, still not going to GenCon so still having marginally more money for such things. Marginally. It's also all still going on my credit card because points and also the chimney needs doing, and a larger income sadly doesn't translate to a larger income immediately. And in short BLERGH WHY IS LIVING DECENTLY SO EXPENSIVE.
(She said, having just spent the last absurd sum from her birthday money on eyeshadow instead of putting it into savings like, what, a responsible adult? Oops. Oh well.)
But still, at least not much other than the dentist is happening. Maybe I can get a handle on things again. Slowly. Maybe. I hope. Augh.
