May. 12th, 2016 07:50 amMy head is so scrambled. I meant to get to bed on time last night and ended up staying up being annoyed at the internet and its inexplicable crash (thankfully the braintwin was on the other end of my last tenuous connection talking me through a fix) and that ended about a half an hour past my bedtime. On a capoeira night, so I just slept till I woke up this morning. Which turned out to be 6.15. D'oh.
Add to that that today is the day the chimney people come, allegedly, take two? So I get to stay home for a while longer, which means I get to stay home a lot longer than usual, which means I assigned the morning to cut out at least a good chunk of the Nyssa coat, which means I am slightly a nervous wreck because cutting into fabric. It's perfectly good fabric! What happens if I fuck it up? This is one of those things creative people know because raw materials are always The Best Thing Ever because they are The Best Creation Ever in potentia. And then once we start using them we could fuck it up and oh god. Oh god oh god. And then my brain just circles endlessly.
No, I think the goal for today is just to cut out 6 or so pieces in the morning, not including the front panel which I have yet to finish, and then to cut out the rest of it tonight after I've re-sketched the front panel, maybe both front panels, to suit Nyssa. This seems eminently reasonable. And do it first before my usual morning routines so I stop fucking dithering at it. The Rock sez. Get after your goals.
My Tombow Irojiten pencils came and oh my god they color so good. If these are inferior to the Prismacolors (and I'm not certain they are, just have sort of a more delicate touch? I'm still new at this) then I can't even imagine what the Prismacolors feel like. I love these things. I need all of the pencils, the whole set. But they're expensive so I'm getting the second set in June and the third set in July, unless someone asks what I want for my birthday in which case I will make all of the pointing fingers at JetPens. Usually, though, these people just give us gift certificates to places, which is also fine.
I'm also really really getting into the manga drawing. And the drawing in general, Roomie said there was a life drawing class at one of the bookstores down the street Tuesday nights, I think she said? Because there's one down from the store on Thursday nights, and she's interested too, which means now plotting may occur and I can hear you with the Steve Rogers comparisons, shut it. (For those of you now making funny faces at me: I'm runty, have asthma, a reflex response of "FIGHT ME", a strong sense of What America Should Be [hint: NOT THIS OH MY GOD THIS ELECTION CYCLE], and now, apparently, all the artistic/drawing inclination.)
But between this and that and everything else, still juggling twenty thousand projects! Still making reasonable headway on most of them. Helped by coloring in between working on graphics for Murderboarding with YuYu Hakusho playing in the background whee!
