I'm in the weird mental place where my birthday money (most of it) has been deposited and I have a whole list of things I want to buy. Except I don't want to buy them because I'm four? pounds over my lowest minimum average to date and I want to get back down to that pre-winter minimum average again before I get new clothes, and my face is still scabby from the crud and I want the scabs to go away before I get new makeup. (There are books I want to get but since part of the birthday fun traditionally involves a trip to a giant McKay's I'm holding off on those so far for a much less headfuckery reason.) Basically, urgh. I don't know, it's not like any of the things I want are going anywhere anytime soon so pretty much it can just sit there, but the fact that I have these mental barriers towards buying shiny things really is irritating me.

Plus side, the face crusties continue to heal. I'm really pleased about that. And I slept reasonably well last night apart from waking up once because nose/sinus annoyance and once because the fucking cat was crawling over both of us yowling in our ears.

Blegh, I don't know. Maybe I'll just not be a consumer right now. Take that, American economy! Fucking broken capitalism. Besides, it's not like I'm not going to consume ridiculous quantities of alcohol and video games later, all of which will require monies. So. See, my actual birthday's not for a couple weeks, and the boy's birthday is a couple days after that, and traditionally we just celebrate by going to Dave and Buster's and getting ourselves wrecked playing games and drinking and stuffing our faces. The getting wrecked part is because I always play way too much skee ball and knocking down the clowns games and then my arm hurts for days after. Getting alcohol-wrecked happens at the local cidery so we don't have to worry about drivers.

Not much else going on? It poured almost nonstop from last night till this morning so on the plus side I don't have to water the garden till maybe tonight, we'll see. On the minus side oh please god let this not be a repeat of a couple years ago when it rained at least once a day every day for three or four months. At least. No one grew anything at that point unless it grew indoors. So much mold and rot and mildew everywhere. So much. But everything in the beds seems to have either died upon transplantation or be taking root well. And! And the groundhog hasn't been at it! Did eat half my damn lamb's ear, but that's lamb's ear and there's more than enough for it to grow back. Yay!
