So, I had one of those weekends where I ended up doing a whole lot of things, but none of them the things that have been on my list to do. I went to capoeira where I was once again the second most experienced person in the class what the fuck am I doing this right teacher HALP. Went to lunch, went to the farmer's market/greenhouse and got a truckload of dirt. I'm not actually kidding about that, we borrowed Capoeira Puck and his truck and Roomie came with us and we all filled the back of his truck with sacks of raised bed fill, an enriched compound for raised beds. And then we all emptied it out into the beds. And then it sat there and we hung around for a while and chatted, and then the rest of the day is kind of a blur. There was food and alcohol, I remember taking a nap and then a shower because people wanted to meet us at local restaurants and pubs, and I remember eating a whole hamburger in the time it took the table to eat half their meals, but other than that.
Um. Then the next day was supposed to be my day of kicking back and flopping and doing nothing. Except running an errand. Okay maybe two errands. And lunch. And somehow this ended up being me getting my ass out there again and putting the manure/mushroom mix into the beds, transplanting tomatoes and cukes and lettuces, planting onion and carrot seed, watering things, rinsing starter cups so they can be reused, then coming inside and sitting down for all of thirty minutes before I decided I wanted to put together my new furniture goddammit. So now I have a set of shelves for my terrifyingly large stash of powder shadow and a full-length mirror with jewelry cabinet inside because Certain People are enabling enablers and I wanted a full-length mirror in which to preen, dammit. And then I took all that trash out because we could have done it later or even tomorrow (today) but I wanted it out of my fucking house. And then I picked up some. And then I caught up on April starts. And this ended up sorting out all of the floss because Bucilla kits are the suck and do not come with floss organizers.
And now I need a weekend to recover from my weekend.
And to keep reminding myself that this is a temporary thing, this is not actually what all of my weekends will be like, taking care of a garden requires weeding, watering, and picking fruits/veggies. It does not require spending 2-4 hours every weekend filling things with dirt and transplanting things and so on and so forth.
Ugh. I have itchy scabs in the worst place: all around my nose from the week and a half ish of head colds, recovery, and more head colds. I mean, on the plus side that's my only lingering symptom and clearly I'm physically capable again, but on the minus side owies and itchy and I can't fucking blow my nose like I want to because it pulls at things and argh. (I'm sure you all wanted to know this, but if I can't complain on my DW where can I complain?) (In chat probably.) (Shush.)
I have inevitably hit the point on Nano where I am so behind I need to write 5k per day to finish on time. We'll see whether or not this happens. On the plus side I have also hit the point on Camp Nano where I don't much care whether or not I win or get the goodies, do I have proof of concept out? Yes? Good. I'll finish it down the line.
And the rest... ugh. The rest, today, is getting used to routines again. Taking care of some small things on the to-do list, but getting used to routines again is a definite thing on the list. I think that actually might be most of the list. And writing, of course.
