So, yesterday at capoeira was fun and interesting. Fun because we had two new people and their? kid and we got to show off for them a bit and have a sort of mini-roda. Interesting because since the center was closed we were all going to do it outside, which is fine as far as that goes but the ground we ended up doing it on was covered in fucking glass. Not the big bits it'd take 5-15 minutes to pick all up, really tiny shards. I don't know how none of us got glass in our hands until Roomie at the very end. Somehow.
And then as I was heading home I got the good news: the boy got the VA job! YAY. Fucking yay, greater financial security and federal benefits is ours! God that's been a while. I know the process started around the time Roomie moved in and we started the pitch letter, and... so, what, it's been around a month?
Care packages keep getting delayed on account of ooh I should put more stuff in does X want this? She does? Yay! Now I have to put that in because I wasn't thinking and forgot it at home. But all the ones that can go out have gone out, so I think that's just two left. My brain is very not good this week. But I did sleep! I even slept in, deciding that that and not science was the better part of valor.
Timing is also the better part of valor, or the better part of being a courtesan. I have learned that eyeshadow and everything else rockets my makeup routine from 5-7 minutes to 20 in the mornings, which means I really had better get my ass out of bed at 6 or 6.15 at the latest to get everything done that I want to do. Which means going to bed on time. Timing is the most critical virtue inasmuch as there is one, it's also the fucking hardest. Ugh. Though speaking of courtesan things, my Portuguese book finally came! Yay for being able to do Portuguese with two books instead of constantly leaning over poor Roomie's shoulder. And possibly studying ahead. No, probably not, that would be mean, I already have starting bonuses. (Also speaking of courtesan things oh my god I need to get back to practicing my guitar I've bought it off of Habitica I think a whole week.)
And there's studies and writing things I need to done, but that's perpetual. Not much new and exciting there. Feeling pretty cheerful and optimistic today about everything though, so we'll see if that turns into productivity in general areas!

Date: 2016-04-06 09:20 pm (UTC)It definitely takes a while. Now that I'm doing eyeshadow as well it takes a full twenty minutes, which mean when winter comes back around sleep will probably be more important than makeup. Till then, I guess it's play with fun colors time?
At the moment though I think I'm just relieved to have the skill in case I end up working in a place where I need to use it.
