Woke up with somewhat less swelling and it still hurts to use that hand for much in the way of gripping or pressure, but the redness has receded to a small patch around the one place his tooth got through, so I'm assuming the muscles are healing. Which has got me thinking, I wonder how many people take unnecessary antibiotics for cat bites when their hands are more, hi you just got this muscle slammed/pierced by X pounds of pressure and that HURTS, and less o hai cat mouths are cesspools of bacteria have an infection. Not that I don't believe cat bites can get infected but there's no pus, no red veiny stuff, not significantly more heat, nothing that looks like infection in there.
Hm, wiki seems to suggest a domestic cat's bite force is about 60 pounds of pressure. That's probably enough to make the hand swell up for about a 1" radius around the bite and make the muscle go aaaugh and still have about 95% use of my hand. 100% if I strain it, but let's not go there.
Anyway. This has been your ramble into the life of a somewhat reckless cat owner who can't go for more than a couple of days without fresh scratches. Very rarely deep ones, more from playing without gloves than anything, but still.
Did not go to capoeira last night, mostly because it turns out the one thing I can't do with my hand is put weight on it, in the sense of when I hold a box lid down and lean on it repeatedly it angers the hand to being more red and more swollen. So at that rate the odds of me being about to put any weight on it, in a discipline that does a lot of inverting and leaning on hands? Yeah, not likely. Plus aunt was fussing, so we went to the grocery store and I got sushi that I turned out to be too worked up to eat anyway (I ate about half to three quarters of a roll!) because of what happened in San Bernardino and a lot of my friends working near the building. Near enough to hear copters and sirens anyway. So I just went home, dragged together some focus and ended up taking a quiz instead of going to bed early like I should have because what am deadlines.
And then I took the final exam and aced it at a 98% so there's that. On the other hand the Cerego keeps fucking crashing on my computer at work, soI'm not sure what I'm going to do about that part. Hopefully remember to do the mastery tests at home. looks like I'm ending up doing it on Firefox instead, so that's good. And even with all the quizzes I missed from various other things, it looks like I'll get a passing if not decent grade out of it. So. Woo? And then it's definitely kicking ass on the Government and Terrorism/Counter-Terrorism classes because oh dear god so far behind. But that's only two courses, most of which are relatively simple in the read memorize regurgitate type thing. Mostly it's just cramming information into my head at two, three times the speed they originally intended ulp.
And edits. Studies and edits. Edits and studies. Should I just start keeping a list of the shit I've done either here or on paper? Maybe. It's on the challenges on my new guild! DaVinci's Disciples if you're on Habitica. Because there need to be more people besides me and
lireavue in it to seed the guild.
