So, the yarn came. Reminding me why I love working in one of the local yarn shops, this is somewhat what our yarn order looks like. Only instead of cones of chameleon green, which is now a discontinued color, they sent extra cones of blue? Which I am totally okay with, though they are now also sending one of the cones of chameleon, the worsted weight one, so oh well. The end result is holy shit I have all the yarn and now I need knitting patterns. Well, I have a lot of knitting patterns, now I just need to pick some. And teach the boyfiend not to wash the goddamn wool in the washing machine.
Twitter is conspiring to make me cranky today, starting with the Baltimore ex-cop who's taken a turn for the "if you're not out there with the protestors history will disdain you" and confirmed this as "if you're not with us you're against us" and, and no. And my god that will burn you out quicker than almost anything. And dude, you are a straight white cismale, do you not understand that this is easier on you than just about anyone else participating? Maybe sit down and listen to some of the people you're stumping for. Though by now mostly I'm cranky I didn't think to make the "That's Bush-league politics" pun I thought of half an hour later.
The second Twitter thing is the whole people sneering at Suzanne Collins (I'm guessing that's the Collins referred to) and Stephanie Meyer and other people scolding them for being harsh at "foundational" YA and me going "... yeah, cram a 'modern' in there and I might buy it, but YA has been around long before both those women were born."
Basically Twitter is conspiring to make me feel cranky and old, and I need my shotgun, my spiked lemonade, and for the kids to get off my damn lawn.
(Probably what I need is to get back to my online lessons and play those while I assemble kits and things. I have a quiz in Western Civ due tomorrow, and a lot of the other due dates are end of December, but the end of December is kind of rapidly approaching.)
And I did manage to get at least 4k words written yesterday, if not 5k, so if I can keep that up I should continue to be okay as far as getting ahead and maybe getting to end early. Editing didn't happen yesterday, but I can make up for that today, and the knitting continues to go apace. As does the Inuyasha watching. Hee.
I have a vague interest in the Civil War trailer inasmuch as it includes some cute Bucky-Steve moments, but inasmuch as all subsequent movies starting with Ultron and going on from there seem to be predicated on a) no inertia of character development (Tony I am LOOKING AT YOU) and b) characters behaving stupidly, I'm really really uninterested. I can't believe I went to see Age of Ultron and spent a good chunk of the movie hiding in my seat with my hands over my ears. I'm not even kidding about that. The boyfiend thought I was being silly, I thought I was being silly too, for agreeing to see the movie in order to be sociable. I should have stayed at the bookstore for two and a half hours.
... Okay, I did see The Covenant for Sebastian Stan so it might be that I'll see Civil War for him, too, but that's it. (See icon for why I own The Covenant.)
Thanksgiving! Day off! In the middle of the week! This isn't going to fuck with my head either tonight or Friday, no, of course not. On the plus side, more time to write, edit, clean house, and watch Inuyasha when I should be watching lecture videos.

Date: 2015-11-25 07:10 pm (UTC)I was STILL flinching. I am so glad I paid no money, and that
I'm . . . just hiding from the trailer. And everything else.
