Throwback Thursday (yes I know it's not Thursday shut up) to finding Murdock over Nanowrimo, as it turned out. I found this post because I took a wild hair to go through and fill in all my old Nano novels. I don't remember when that data got erased, but I did find most of the titles, word counts, etc from my old novels from journal entries, gdocs files, etc. Some of them were really awful.

Wednesday Reads! Apart from my awful old writings, I did read The Paper Magician by Charlie Holmberg (who it turns out is a woman, if such things make a difference to you) on Saturday. Because, see, the other two were in the Kindle Daily Deals, and I figured if I got a quarter of the way into the book I'd be able to tell if I wanted to get the rest. So I did, and then I did, and then I did, and then I read all three of them (Glass Magician and Master Magician are the other two) in very short order. I may have ended up doing a whole lot of reading instead of writing. Oops. In my defense, they're very cute and engaging books, if not terribly deep or rich in dramatic ways. But it's fluffy and fun, and I like that. The romance was laid on a tad thick, but other than that.

I can't actually remember if I've read any other fiction in the last week. Non-fiction, though!

I'm working through Gotham: A History of New York City to 1898 because of reasons and novel writings. It is, however, 1400 fucking pages long. So I'm taking it in bite sized chunks. It's actually pretty engaging even for being a doorstopper. And it's already yielded some facts I may throw in, or at least fun little details.

I may or may not finish Mad Madam LaLaurie, which I'm maybe close to halfway through, and which I started at DragonCon when I was waiting in Yet Another Line for something, but then got distracted upon coming home. It's not for anything in particular, though, so I don't know when I'll finish it.

I've been kind of reading The Thames Torso Murders for background for another work I started and haven't even posted an update on yet oops. But again, that may have to wait in favor of finishing projects before I keep going on something new.

And other upcoming. I need to finish Zeroes and Shadowshaper still, and after that I think it might be the Brian McClellan book Promise of Blood or if the BF's done with Six Gun Tarot I might work on that. I've got a couple Batman and a Superman and a Wonder Woman comic to read from back when I was taking that superhero course, and I might just get all of those over with at once.

Word count for this week so far is 3,675 though I may try to finish out the week's count tonight after capoeira. (Stop laughing. It could happen.) And superhero training, with the capoeira, continues apace. At less of a pace around DragonCon with all the irregularity after that, but it continues. Theoretically I have a roda this weekend, but Saturday has gotten so fucked I have no idea how much of that I'm going to make it for. Going to ask Capoeira Groot this evening if it's okay if I show up late. Augh too many things going on.

... oh so it wasn't just me with filling in NaNo novels this week. (I was filling in the IJ links, really, because it makes things easier to find, when I forget the journal names...)
