Sep. 24th, 2015 12:28 pmOof, that was the longest section ever in the Astronomy course to take notes on. Possibly because I kept trying to do it at work and getting interrupted, so that should tell me something, but still.
The second type of hot leaf juice, which appears to be yogi Bedtime tea and contains Chamomile AND Valerian AND St John's Wort for those of you keeping track at home, seems to have actually knocked me out to where I sleep the entire night I might actually keep this damn tea around as the step between ugh can't sleep and talking to the Q. (2.04 for the bit in particular) (May not be suitable for all ages as it includes a Claus von Bulow joke.) And I know St John's Wort interacts with some oh look it interacts with my birth control. So I guess I'm only taking this for a couple of days as needed and then, you know, not. Maybe there's something like this without the St. John's Wort. ... My god, that shit invalidates every damn drug. Though maybe not in this light of a dose if it's mixed with everything else. Aaaargh.
Well. One more night (tonight) of this and I should be fine. I do feel calmer, even with yesterday's moment of snarling at the poor random stranger I felt pretty calm and recovered pretty well, only frustrated last night by a lot of little things that didn't work. But the annoyance didn't skyrocket. ... Actually I kind of feel better and more even than I expected, which now has me eyeballing the back of my head for land mines. But hopefully some of those teas and getting a few good nights' sleep and not having anything explode or turn up dead at me helped reset my brain back to more normal levels. I hope. I really hope.
Thinking about blog stuff I think my government class is definitely going on hold for a couple of weeks, since that's purely a work at your own pace all stuff due at the end of the course class. Astronomy has pretty strict deadlines but that's also relatively easy except for the math, Terrorism has laxer deadlines but there's so goddamn much material. ... Terrorism and Counter Terrorism as a college course. Goddammit. I need to come up with a better way to abbreviate that. Anyway. The upshot to all of this being
lireavue's right, if we get all the Haven S2 crap bar the Christmas episode, which is a stand-alone and can be done later, done by the premier of the last season we won't be switching back and forth all the time in S2 to S6-no-really mindsets.
(For the uninitiated as I think there are one or two? I co-run/write a blog where we talk about TV shows. The only one we're currently doing at airtime+24 is Haven, we've got some TV shows we're going to come up and do after that, currently planning Killjoys and a couple other things.)
Oogh. Online courses are fun right now! Because I'm actually keeping up with them. And eyeballing the textbooks in a couple of them and for the first time in my life, I might end up buying college course textbooks written by the professor. Second time. Kind of. I did buy the book by the Civil War reconstruction professor, but only because I really liked the way he taught the class and the book seemed worth it, and after the fact anyway. His name's Eric Foner, I actually really recommend him for anything involving the US Civil War/post Civil War period.
Shut up. Yes, I'm a Ravenclaw. I get curious about a thing and take a course on it. Or take a course for fun. And then drop it when I get either fed up or fall too far behind. Shaddup.
Things and stuff. I feel like there was more I wanted to babble about at you all. Or maybe that's just the fact that I finally feel better, like I have energy again. Fortunately I already have all the things currently on my to-do, so I won't, I hope, start running around and trying to do all the things AGAIN. Because the last time I did that I ended up with 15 online courses on my EdX dash. Ahem.
