Jun. 1st, 2015 10:22 amAnd then there's that moment where you're working on your story, it seems to be going pretty well, you're surprised at how happy you are with it, and then you scroll down to your original outline which the story you're happy with doesn't resemble in the slightest. Oops.
I shouldn't really be surprised by this anymore. Though I'm not sure you could call this surprise, it's more of a oh, huh, that's where that was supposed to go, oops and then a sigh and wondering if I can yank it back on track, or even if I should try. Probably not? I do need to get a move on and get to the substance of the story because it's already clocking in at a rate where I should be at the halfway point, and I'm not. I don't think. But I guess we'll see once it's all done and the editrix is giving me the eyeball. Or if we're continuing on that motif, technically I'm passing her the eyeball.
Oh god why did I read the news that was a mistake. A big big mistake. Now I just want to go back to bed. (No, you don't want to know. The US continues to be the US, with all its myriad and violent disappointments.)
At least work wasn't too busy today. I managed to get everything done (which is sometimes a feat even on a normal day) before I headed off to get my teeth filled and drilled, I even managed to get a decent number of words written. Physics will have to wait till evening, and the evolution course I really, really need to devote time to. Possibly there will be lecture videos watched while knitting happens. So so behind on my knitting. So many gloves and things to make. Argh. Grr.
So, tonight. For my own memory mostly because I just know the dentist is going to scramble my brains. Finish the daily words and advance as close to 500 words as possible on the WL stories, possibly I should just run them all concurrent? 500 words per day in each story until done? Then edits on the WL main story itself, then physics and Latin and evolution and so on. Stretches before bed. I have no idea what I'm going to do about dinner, I don't think anythings' defrosted. Scrounge, I guess. Make the boy worry about it.

Date: 2015-06-01 08:03 pm (UTC)When I was working on loads of research papers in university, I just got used to completely changing my thesis statement after I'd finished my paper. I don't know why I still felt the need to write an introduction before the rest of the paper, actually, since its final version bore no resemblance to the first draft.
