So, um. This is going to get interesting real quick.

I have no idea what's going on at the moment besides the boyfiend's giddiness at having the car almost paid off, but he's decided ... okay, I started the house painting thing. And that's my fault for an equally silly reason, I got my Alice in Wonderland prints and decided that we needed a place to hang them, so I needed to paint the entire goddamn bedroom. For the record, the bedroom is at least... I have no idea, the house plans are downstairs, but something like 10x25x8.5ft ceilings. It is a big bedroom. We're going to paint it all. I started muttering about this, he was all "oh by the way I took a weekend off so we can work on the house painting," I'm all "... what about that door I also keep muttering about that..." NOPE. PAINTING. So this is going to be interesting.

This is, mind you, in addition to his deciding that we need to upgrade every computer in the house except my desktop. Which is true, because right now I'm the only one with a working computer and my netbook, which I take to a lot of different events and things, is limping along at, what, six years old? .... My god, no, it is exactly five years old. No wonder the poor thing is getting slow and creaky. And it was overstock when I got it, so. But no, he's planning on upgrading us to at least two working computers, two desktops and a portable for me, and possibly other gadgets besides depending on what he can get a desktop for. And granted this will all go on a payment plan that'll be a third per month what the car was, but ... still. I don't know. Everything's happening at once and I wish it would slow down.

But I finished edits on Sandborn part 2 today! Which was kind of an awesome feeling. I'm resigning myself to the fact that my word count for the past week is 3,588 because I don't want to die of exhaustion, and for three days or so there I was not getting anything remotely like good sleep, which pretty much killed a lot of things. On the plus side, the mental energy is definitely there, when the physical energy can keep up. My ability to tab back and forth between stories has returned, and my ability to let something go when it's not happening, move on, and come back to finish the project later is at top notch.

So there's that. The only thing I think I managed to read in the last week, though, was Spirit Gate. I'd swear I finished something else over the weekend, but I can't think what. I have somehow managed to get the third book in the series on hold at the library, though. No word on where the second one is. Irksome.

My laptop is still under guarantee. In fact, I kicked my ass and contacted support this morning. They told me to reinstall and immediately run a diagnostic on the HDD, and they might even fix it for free (eventually) (especially since Sony no longer makes laptops, apparently) but still. I at least have the old laptop to tide me through or something.
