Jan. 9th, 2015 09:28 pmWell, today started out looking like it was going to be nice and quiet and I could get some stuff done and yet, no. Including the stuff i'd been putting off for a couple of days in the list of stuff I needed to get done, I ended up running around the store for about four hours. To put this into perspective normally I stay in my own little area doing shipping and receiving for about four, five hours, maybe move out front some, maybe sit at my desk and not do much running around some. No, I have been going back, forth, up, down, it has been absolutely freaking nuts except for the one hour I was stuck in the front of the store and could not answer the phone in case I had to take a customer at the desk, people. That means answer the goddamn phone, there are three of you in back there, one of you pick up the phone. Also if you try to give me a task you can just as well do while I am juggling several things, half of them time sensitive, I will bite you.
My aunt says this is a tragic side effect of my own competence. I don't want this side effect can I return it for another?
So now I'm curled up on the couch having finished Fringe Season 4, which was not the plan, the plan was sushi and fucking West Wing simulwatch but the idiot who sent out a supposedly new complete season set with a scratched and ruined season 2 disc put the brakes on that. Ugh. Languages are mostly done except for Hindi, so all that's left is writing and physics and with this much sugar in me I might actually get it done. I am so looking forward to my haircut and massage tomorrow you have no idea.
Oh, oh, but the fun part was when someone started bitching on Twitter because the ACLU is evidently... something lawsuit child molesters polygraphs? And I tried to ask if this was about the rights of the individuals, which is a WHOLE other kettle of fish I am not getting into, or the efficacy of the polygraph test, which is to say not. She decided that we were all defending child molesters and flounced off. Me and some other guy who apparently had something to say along the lines of what I'd said pointed out that polygraphs are inadmissable (something else that outraged her) because they are notoriously fucking unreliable as a means of telling the truth. Now, if you want to use them as an interrogation or intimidation tactic, I don't think it actually violates any torture laws, but as originally intended? There are reasons polygraph evidence is inadmissible in a lot of courts. Not that she would listen.
On the hilarious side, I have eaten enough sugar today that writing that Grant Ward Redemption Fic I had in mind one paragraph (or two or three) a day for X days seems like a good idea. I have no idea how long this will last, but that whole thing hit my CHALLENGE ACCEPTED buttons. Even if I'm more glad that SHIELD isn't even trying to redeem him.
Oogh. Okay, if I'm going to do that and everything else I should stop bitching on Dreamwidth and start writing. Yes. Allons-y.
