Jan. 1st, 2015 09:37 pmWell, apart from a mountain of suck out of Lulu and some massive frustration, leading to me declaring fuckit, not trying to get the curtains hemmed or mess around with Evernote, the rest of the day has been a relative success. Including the three hour nap I needed since I decided to just get up again at 8 like an idiot. After staying up till close to 2 the night before. Bad self. No cookie. Also bad for going and looking at my nonexistent sales figures, self, you know better than to do that.
Okay, but I did get dinner, a healthy dinner, and Arabic practice in, so there's that. Arabic has such a beautiful writing system. Okay, yes, English would be beautiful too if I started practicing that calligraphy, and I yet might, but still. This is new pretty I am just now learning to be able to write! It pleases me. Especially in light of earlier frustrations.
I will actually practice the romance alphabet in calligraphy some, probably by conjugating Latin verbs and declining Latin nouns and things, but for that I really want a smaller nib pen, since I already know how to read the Romance alphabet. So that'll have to wait, though possibly only till tomorrow.
And then there's the matter of ink, which A Certain Someone introduced me to this fountain pen website and now I want to get all the pretty Noodler colors, which seem the most versatile and have the shortest drying time? And do all my practicing in pretty colors. And eventually someday learn how to do gradiant writing and and and. I love these Pilot Parallel pens. They are so fucking shiny.
So. Japanese and Arabic done, I need to sit down tomorrow and just read through the last few pages of The Stationmaster, and most of the professional writer type tasks I wanted to get done today, done, despite my despair over my lack of progress towards becoming a self-sustaining writer I can at least conduct myself like a fucking professional.

Date: 2015-01-02 05:27 pm (UTC)Yeah, January is our time when the boyfiend doesn't get a paycheck for six weeks, which is especially irksome this year. But we'll get through it. Thankfully, that's what savings are for.

Date: 2015-01-03 04:14 am (UTC)He does get six weeks at once, it just has something to do with how the state government schedules the pay periods for I think everyone in this system of care facilities? I have no idea why, but it's the government, so I can't say I'm surprised. At least, yes, it is predictable and we can deal with it. Better than it could be in that regard.
