So, I did get a lot of stuff done this weekend! The boy cut the grass, I got the house picked up, a bunch of mint trimmed and extracts set in and herbs hanging and ran the laundry and pre-made a bunch of sauces which may turn out to be the best thing ever. Chopped veggies. Did stuff.
Then this morning I get into the car to pool with the aunt to work and find out my Mom's in the hospital. Oh goodie.
(Then I got a call from DC saying that Mom was out of the hospital as of twenty minutes or so ago, so, okay.)
I can't take this. I mean, I can, but I don't want to. I've hit the point where frustration leads to tears in about 10 minutes, and my patience has worn thinner than spider silk. I got forwarded an email with the gory medical details, including "X-ray showed mass on lungs." I don't want to hear about any masses on the lungs! I mean, an X-ray, it might well be the fluid buildup, but my grandfather just died of cancer a few months ago I don't want to fucking hear it.
Anyway. She's out of the hospital, she's on antibiotics, with luck this will all be over in two weeks (and she's also neglected to say she was planning on flying to Peru in august, which that I find more acceptable, but I doubt she should go right now) and she can be back to counting the days till her retirement. And I can breathe again.
Fucking hell, universe. Foot off my throat.
