May. 19th, 2014 12:12 pmSo, today's Irish was making a start at memorizing the goddamn verbal noun forms, and I did make a good start. But that's why it's not here. And I did page 80 on Russian, which was easier than the last couple of pages. La de dum keep expanding vocab. Keep reading and getting a feel for usage.
I am, as it turns out, spending all day Saturday (well, from around 11.30 to 6) getting pampered to shit because I finally got tired of waiting for the boy to tell me if he was leaving town or not. And then we got plans straightened out and now I have appointments made and I will have a fucking day of pampering because my birthday dammit. I feel like this should actually be a tradition. Maybe next time I can do it with the boy, too. Though the idea of him getting a pedicure is actually really kind of hysterical. Not for the reasons you'd think either, he's the one who takes the most grooming care of my and his toes.
Anyway. Now that you have more information than you needed.
The urge to get more plants has not abated. Currently on the list: Cereus and Life Saver wossis, indoor plans I can put on my courtesan cabinet (yes, I have a courtesan cabinet, I needed a place to put shit and I wasn't using that music cabinet shut up) and let them sit with minimal fuss. I also have a mild urge for some salvia, but that's only because Anna brought it up the other night and it's going to sit there nagging at me.
Stayed up way too late last night watching Dangerous Beauty. Which has contributed to the above phenomenon, as well as an urge to continue re-reading the Pillow Book of Sei Shonagon. Because I am nothing if not predictable? Or something. On the plus side, staying up late last night aside, I have been getting more in the way of a workout done in the morning, sort of eating better (I'm pretty much giving up on eating well for the next day or so on account of, it's my fucking birthday and I'll eat crap if I want to), and I managed to cram everything in this morning plus putting on basic/natural makeup again! Okay, really I'm only putting it on because my face powder doubles as a very light sunscreen and seems to actually be good for my skin, and my lipstick does the same thing. That's pretty much the limit of my daily makeup when I'm not having a fit of MUST WEAR COLOR ALL OVER MY FACE AND HANDS. Though all that aside, at least I can put on makeup that doesn't look like I'm auditioning for Cirque du Soleil.
(Cirque du Soleil sent me a birthday card. It was very sweet!)
So, okay. I should get back to the writing thing, I should stop blathering on about all the flowers I want to buy (not till after your birthday, self) and all the flowering/cleaning/courtesaning I did this weekend (uh-huh a good courtesan practices her strengths, like writing) and every other damn thing. I am, despite what it sounds like here, in a really good mood today, hence the urge to blather. About the only thing bugging me right now is I don't have time or a nearby open bakery (some of them are closed on Mondays) at which to get a cake and I really want cake right now dammit. This after I had doughnuts for breakfast. Oi.
