Have I yet mentioned how much I HATE this new update journal interface? Because I do. With a passion that is only rivaled by Pestilence's hate(?) for my boy.

Oh my. Pestilence is far more of a temptation than he should be. This is going to make things very interesting.

And cats are leaping up behind me onto the back of my chair at random moments. This is startling.

Work continues apace. I'm slowly getting used to call center work, although I'm still dreading the little 'beep' that heralds an incoming call. Although yesterday didn't find me with anything I couldn't handle. A number of removes and customer service transfers. Six calls in two hours. Easy money. And some more amusing anecdotes:

Mailbox Man - Mailbox man calls up and has an old catalog. He wants to know if we still sell a mailbox and then proceeds to tell me all about how it got knocked over by someone. That's all nice, dear, why don't you just tell me what you want, our call time is monitored. No, I didn't say that of course. I proceed to tell him about the nice mailbox we do offer now, which sounds sort of like the mailbox he describes only not. Spend about five minutes doing this. Finally he says he might as well just get a catalog so he can see what they look like. I offer to wait while he pulls it up on his computer (probably shouldn't have with call times and everything but he seemed frantic. over a mailbox) and he says No, I want hardcopy. Okay, sir, I can send you a catalog, and it will arrive in 7-10 bus -- Is there any way you can get it to me sooner? .... It's a MAILBOX, sir, it's not your lifesaving drugs. So I tell him I'll send it priority mail, roll my eyes, and get him off the phone. Then I hit ship. 'cause it's not really going to go any faster. Weirdo.

Catalog Lady - Also weird, but much shorter. She wanted every catalog we make. Every last one of them. All of them. I sent her all the ones I could think of. I do also wonder if this was the same lady who called the bf's line last night (I got her the night before) and wanted all the catalogs. Some people are very odd.

And, yeah. Thank the Goddess we're getting in on this in the beginning of the busy season. If I had to hit the floor running in the middle of the busy season or, Gods forfend, right after thanksgiving I think I'd die of nerves.

[livejournal.com profile] vespurrs, will you be on tonight to finalize plans for meeting?

Hmm. And now to get back to threads and things. Must figure out what to do with the Rider. Assuming someone can keep a level head still. *eyes Him balefully*
