Hilariously, the boy seems to have finally come around to the whole "Let's get the chimney swept so we can start burning shit in it" way of thinking. Apparently the key was explaining it to him in terms of btu's rather than anecdata. Is this a guy thing? Because suddenly he's all "Did you know a fireplace puts out [a very large number] of BTUs? and our fireplace is larger than average?" and I'm all "Yes, dear, remember how I told you we used to have a fireplace at my grandparents' house?" Plus that's how we used to heat our beachhouse, but that's a whole other thing. It does, however, inspire me to contemplate if some chunks of the wall upstairs could be cut out to make vents that go into the chimney well so that the fireplace heats the bedroom too. That might be overreaching.
At any rate. Keeping warm this coldass winter, and part of me wonders if once this is over and we get our chimney fixed, if this will be the last coldass winter we have. No, probably not.
I killed the most difficult scene in Deli Counter last night! Now I just have to integrate the written edits and finish up the last scene and then I can turn it in and be DONE ALL DONE MUA HA HA HA HA HA. Until the next round of edits. And go back to blog posts and writing dime novels and anthology stories and other novels. The endless litany of things I mean to write. Fanfiction. So many ideas, so little time. So little room to write while there's a boy lying on one of my arms and my chest. So little inclination to get up and get dressed for work because of same.
Today looks like a light work day, and we actually managed to get most of the theories post worked on yesterday, so at least that's done. Which means today will be Deli Counter and blog posts, okay. And tonight... I have no idea about tonight. Probably dime novels, but I have no idea what's getting watched tonight, so. We'll see!
... I swear, the SECOND I type that I find out we have dragons arriving. Yay.
