Irregular verbs! Oh fuck me. Irish has eleven!

The verbs meaning "to get" and "to go" have distinct stem forms for the main three tenses, and some of them have sub-stems. Woo.

to get/find - faigh, faighigí, faighim, faigheann tú, faigheann sí/sé, faigheann muid/faighimid, faigheann sibh, faigheann siad, fuair mé, fuair tú, fuair sí/sé, fuair muid, fuair sibh, fuair siad (past), gheobhaidh mé, geobhaid tú, geobhaid sé/sí, geobhaidh muid, geobhaid sibh, geobhaid siad
to go - téigh, téigí, téim, téann tú, téann sé/sí, téann muid, téann sibh, téann siad, chuaigh mé, chuaigh tú, chuaigh sí/sé, chuaigh muid, chuaigh sibh, chuaigh siad, rachaidh mé, rachaid tú, rachaidh sí/sé, rachaidh muid, rachaidh sibh, rachaidh siad

ARGH.

At some point I definitely need to review my (regular) verbs (in Irish anyway), because while I'm now pretty confident of my conjugations even with pre-verbal particles, I've completely lost track of which is the past conjugation and which is the future. I think. So, yeah, someday there will be a review. But it is not this day. /Obligatory LotR Response

I'm having those bizarre impulses where today is totally Monday except it's not. The Thursday people are in (mostly aunts) and the Monday-Tuesday person is not (family friend) and I only have two more work days till the end of the week. And in general, discombobulated. I guess it's a good day to get more work cleaning done, more writing done (story, blog, novels) and take it slow for the next couple of days till I can get back on a schedule? Speaking of which, I should also calendar out the next couple of weeks with my various projects. Or at least as much of it as I know right now, which is to say, in the sunlight of this weekend afternoon, clearing the beds some more and transplanting the random daffodils I found there. I'm pretty sure they're daffodils. That's what I vaguely remember seeing last spring.

And, okay, assuming it doesn't actually rain, now that I've looked at the weather. Double ugh. Maybe I should just take advantage of dry mornings when I have them. And I have no idea about the daffodils.

So far I've read two and a chunk of books this year. Basically I've mainlined the Naamah's Kiss trilogy as far as I can, spent most of yesterday curled up on the couch wishing I hadn't already resolved to clear the beds and reading. I'd forgotten how much these books inspire me to take quiet, steady actions to make me and my surroundings more beautiful and healthful. I couldn't, okay, I could explain it but it would be a long and rambling explanation that might not make much sense. But these are books that, irrespective of quality, seem to do good things to my psyche for periodically reading. As opposed to, say, Stephen King or Neil Gaiman, which just scrambles my brain till I'm good for little but sitting down and writing like a fiend. Which is sometimes good! But not always what I need. We're not talking about what the Kate Griffin Matthew Swift books do to my brain. Let's not go there.

Let's, in fact, get to some of those things I mean to do today. Like picking up at work, or possibly getting the last of the leather cut. I need to try the smaller snaps today, too. Well, this evening. Because with the random banging noises at work. Not necessarily a good thing when it's not actually for work. (Yes, I get to make weird banging noises at work. My job is so cool.)

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Naamah's Kiss. Not bad, but good grief, stop trying to outdo yourself with Moirin vs. Phedre...

Ahem. I enjoyed it, and completely agree. Soothing. The books are beautiful and soothing.
