After this I am so very going back and working on prepositions and verb conjugations.
The second verb class has mostly two-syllable imperative stems and long vowels in the endings. The second syllable of the imperative singular often ends in -igh, which is dropped when endings are added. As usual, the unpronounced letter is a, which is added between the suffix and a verb ending in a broad consonant.
éirigh, éirígí, éirímid, éiríonn - to rise
imigh, imígí, imíd, imíonn - to go, depart
socraigh, socraígí, socraímid, socraíonn - to settle, arrange
ceannaigh, ceannaígí, ceannaímid, ceannaíonn - to buy
If the second syllable ends in l, r, or n, an unstressed short vowel in the second syllable is omitted when the ending is added, unless loss of the vowel would produce sound scramble.
oscail, osclaígí, osclaím, osclaíonn - to open
imir, imrígí, imrím, imríonn - to play
inis, insígí, insím, insíonn - to tell
foghlaim, foghlaimígí, foghlaimím, foghlaimíonn - to learn
I am making a goddamn flow chart to handle this whole conjugating of Irish verbs thing. Argh. Broad and slender consonants and double argh.
Jag's Morning Jam!
1. Tubthumping - Chumbawumba (yes, again)
2. Bring Me To Life - Evanesence
3. Stripped - Rammstein cover
4. Witches - Switchblade Symphony
5. Ooh La La - Goldfrapp
6. F*ckin Perfect - P!nk
That went much better! Except for the whole oh god I don't want to do my daily exercises after. That's probably going to be par for the course for a while, though. I got in most of them, and may try to squeeze in some after I brush my hair and get vaguely composed for the day.
It's Friday, though! So, so happy about that. So ready for this wackyass week to be over even though I managed to regain routines towards the middle and smash myself into something resembling proper shape. So, okay, maybe it just feels like a worse week than usual. It's still more chaotic than I'd like it to be and I would like to have a day where all I need to get done is the goddamn blogging/writing and then I can collapse all the next day. (And by collapse I think I mean work on the next PoI I'm doing and other stuff, but oh well.) I would also like to get the house somewhat clean and I think that might actually be my entire goal for the weekend, rather than sewing stuff. I'll get the bobbins threaded, how's that.
Smaller steps. Today's goal, same as yesterday's. Writing sprints are good for me when I'm bashing out a first draft, or at least, to get back into the writing groove, still need to remember that but at least I remembered it in time. Also it's probably not a good idea to use a writing program like Write or Die with all the screaming noises and flashing lights while at work. Anyway, CS basics post, Nanowrimo, etc. When I get home I'm going to try to hang curtains with the boy and get chicken cut, and if there's time between that and watching TV, there will be moving things into the craft room and setting that up. Yay productivity?
