May. 30th, 2013 07:31 amThere are special 'imperative' forms of the verb, which can be found as follows:
a) remove the present tense ending -ann from a Type 1 verb to get the singular form. Add -(a)igí to get the plural form.
casann - turns
Cas ar chlé. Turn left.
Casaigí ar dheis. Turn right.
déanann - does
Déan i gceart é. Do it properly.
Déanaigí arís é. Do it again.
cuireann - puts
Cuir sa phost é. Put it in the post.
Cuirigí ansin é. Put it in there.
leanann - follows
Lean an carr sin. Follow that car.
Leanaigí ar aghaidh. Keep going.
b) Remove (a)íonn from the present tense of a Type 2 verb and add -(a)igh in the singular and -(a)ígí in the plural (note the two í's):
insíonn - tells
Inis an fhírinne. Tell the truth.
Insígí dóibh é. Tell it to them.
tosaíonn - begins
Tosaigh arís. Start again.
Tosaígí arís. Start again.
ceanaíonn - buys
Ceannaigh ceann eile. Buy another one.
Ceannaígí milseáin. Buy some sweets.
Mua ha ha ha ha I have sucked Anna back into the Mentalist. After, admittedly, getting sucked back in myself. The procedurals are entertaining but immensely predictable by now, but at least Patrick and Lisbon are entertaining. But the Red John parts are well done enough to keep me interested, and I may have stayed up a little too late last night running over the salient facts (not in order, that needs to be fixed) and planting the seeds of yet another murderboard. Mua ha ha ha ha. Mine is an evil blood-soaked smiley face.
Watering the plants more seems to be perking them up a bit? I think? I hope so. So far it doesn't look like there's actual disease on the plants, the leaves were just turning kind of yellow-white and papery. No spots. So, watering more and paying attention and checking them. Definitely was underwatering the cukes, still not sure if I've killed them or not. Or one of them maybe. Argh, gardening is more difficult than I expected the second time! But not more difficult than I expected at first when I was scared I was going to kill everything. Though, okay, having gone out and watered them again this morning I think they're doing better. The cukes certainly look like they're trying to rally back.
I do, however, feel a need to explore crop rotation, specifically which crops to plant after what. I have a vague memory of, three fields plant A and B the first year and let C lie fallow, plant B and C the second year and let A lie fallow, and so on and so forth. But I can't remember if it's go ahead and plant the same all years, or rotate the crops out or what. Though I suppose it also greatly depends on many things. Bah.
Okay, things I'm doing today. Going over edits on G&M and making sure they're good, then Blood in the Gutters. Possibly White Lightning if work is slow, but probably just G&M and BitG today, and then all Person of Interest all the time this evening. If I can get that chunked out so there's only small bits to do over the weekend that'd be grand. I also need to code up the last bits of G&M, argh. That might happen tonight or tomorrow morning, though.
Still doing pretty good, though, somewhat to my surprise? Maybe not entirely to my surprise. Sort of. Something. I think I'm ... not going to tempt the wrath atop the thing. I'm just going to go do my work, yep. Appropriately, I have a musical and dance themed Mentalist to background the rest of my dance exercises!
