There are distinct past tense forms of Ní, an, and nach. (Negative, question, and negative question.) These end in r and cause lenition.

Ní - Níor
An - Ar
Nach - Nár

(Apparently these are also easy to confuse with other words. Argh.)

Their use is shown in these examples:

Buailim leis go minic.
An mbuaileann tú léi?
Ní bhuailim leo in aon chor.
Nach mbuaileann tú leis?

Bhuail mé leis cheana.
Ar bhuail tú léi?
Níor bhuail mé leo.
Nár bhuail tú leis?

So, the indicator here is if the following word is a verb in the past tense. That's not so bad.

Bhí mé - I was
Ní raibh mé - I wasn't
An raibh mé - Was I?
Nach raibh mé - Wasn't I?

Rinné mé - I did
Ní dhearna mé - I didn't
An ndearna mé? - Did I?
Nach ndearna mé? - Didn't I?

Chuaigh mé - I went
Ní dheachaigh mé - I didn't go
An ndeachaigh mé? - Did I go?
Nach ndeachaigh mé? - Didn't I go?

Chonaic mé - I saw
Ní fhaca mé - I didn't see
An bhfaca mé? - Did I see?
Nach bhfaca mé? - Didn't I see?

Dúirt mé - I said
Ní dúirt mé - I didn't say
An ndúirt mé? - Did I say?
Nach ndúirt mé? - Didn't I say?

Fuair mé - I got
Ní bhfuair mé - I didn't get
An bhfuair mé? - Did I get?
Nach bhfuair mé? - Didn't I get?


More sleep means more human! Or something like that at least. More sleep means more aware and less trying to make thoughts happen in brain. Also more able to write, more able to keep track of things, more able to edit, and more able to realize that the project I was working on earlier today I wasn't actually supposed to start until the first of May. OOPS. At least I realized before I got too far into it? And the way things are going I'll be done with Subversive Mummies by the end of the week or something, which means I can put some energy towards some other things and this month's two major projects are Subversive Mummies and Camp Nano. Which means Camp Nano is even more likely to get done, and. Something. Organization. Things. Though I also have the bulk of a PoI episode to get through tonight and tomorrow. Argh. This would have been so much easier if I'd slept Sunday night.

C'est la vie. I'll update my calendar and organize all my projects, block out time and everything, and I should sit down and check my list of things to do for self-pub and see what I need to keep working on there, and what I need to .... brain short out. No worky. What I need to pay attention to making sure I do in the next couple of weeks, that's what that was.

Today's statement of intent! Work through the email confusion I seem to have run into, edits on Subversive Mummies, Camp Nano/White Lightning. Then getting home and all Person of Interest all the time. Not entirely sure WHAT'S going on with my Russian, but that and German have been doing pretty well the past couple of days with being mindful to keep up with them, so that's good. And possibly working up the rest of the calendar at some point during the day today, so I can work in all those other fiddly little bits.

Yes, there's still no news that doesn't involve self-pub or writing. Aren't you entertained? ARE YOU NOT ENTERokay, no, I can't keep that up with a straight face. All I see is Jon Stewart.

OH YAY that means less hectic days!

YOU'D LIKE TO THINK THAT WOULDN'T YOU. I scheduled myself to where I am tentatively publishing three novels a year for at least the next two years. Not counting this year, which is only two.

WELL I WAS TALKING SHORT-TERM because yesterday just seemed overcrowded. ONE PROJECT LESS FOR APRIL.

YES. I am all about one project less. Yesterday was both overcrowded and overtired. Today isn't much less crowded: schedule organized, edits implemented, story to be submitted in a second, story concept sketched out, um. Russian done! And various and sundry things. But this time I have sleep.

MY WRITING. ALL THE BOOKS. Bloody hell, I never thought this would actually happen until a few months ago.
