When did you come to New York?

Mícheál: Trí bliana ó shin.
Three years ago.

Iriseoir: Cén fáth ar fhág tú Éire?
Why did you leave Ireland?

Mícheál: Níor éirigh liom post a fháil nuair a d'fhág mé an scoil.
I didn't [succeed to] get a job when I left school.

Iriseoir: An ea? An ndearna tú an Ardteist?
Really? Did you do the Leaving Certificate?

Mícheál: Rinne, ach ní dhearna mé ró mhaith ann.
I did, but I didn't do too well in it.

Iriseoir: Tuigim. Ar chuir tú isteach ar mórán postanna?
I understand. Did you apply for many jobs?

Mícheál: Chuir mé isteach ar roinnt. Ach bhí fonn orm teacht anseo.
I sent in some. But I wanted to come here.

Iriseoir: An bhfuair tú post láithreach?
Did you immediately have a job?

Mícheál: Ní bhfuair. Thóg sé tamall uaim.
I didn't. It took me a while.

Iriseoir: Cén sórt oibre a fuair tú?
What sort of work do you do?

Mícheál: Bhí mé ag obair i mbialann ar dtús. Níor fhan mé ann ach sé mhí.
I was working in a restaurant at first. I stayed there only six months.

Iriseoir: Agus ansin?
And then?

Mícheál: Fuair mé post i ngaráiste ach níor thaitin sé liom.
I got a job in a garage but I didn't like it.

Iriseoir: Nár thaitin? Cén fáth?
Didn't like it? Why?

Mícheál: Ní raibh an pá ró-mhaith.
The pay wasn't very good.

Iriseoir: Ní raibh, is dócha. An ndeachaigh tú abhaile ó shin?
No, probably not. Did you go home?

Mícheál: Chuaigh mé ann ar feadh míosa anuraidh.
I went home for about a month.

Iriseoir: Ar mhaith leat fanacht anseo?
Would you stay here?

Mícheál: Níor mhaith. B'fhearr liom dul abhaile.
No. I'd rather go home.



Tired. I got a lot done yesterday, but ended up staying up at least a little bit too late afterwards. At least I got a lot of the small fiddly tasks done, transferring things over and fussing with layouts and small edits and I don't even remember what, but in retrospect I should have gone to bed an hour before I did or more. And now I'm all bleh and tired and probably due for a headache later today.

At least today looks light on the incoming, though I don't know about the outgoing. If it continues to be light on outgoing at least for today there will be doing a lot of edits and possibly drafting something for a third magazine for submission. Which, hey! I got something submitted last night. And oh dear god Camp Nano starts up today and I'm not readyyyyyyyy. Whine moan complain freak out. No, still mostly just want to go back to bed.

Okay, today's statement of intent. I have Subversive Mummies to edit, so primarily some of that, a couple scenes of edits in Sandborn along with adding in at least one scene, all of that during the day, possibly plus working on the third submission if I have brain for it, which I doubt, but you never know. In the evening, all PoI and Camp Nano all the time. That ought to be enough to keep me busy, assuming I can keep awake. And since this is one of those mornings, maybe exercise will help wake me up. And maybe not. I'm not particularly hopeful either way; mostly I think I just want to get through the day without falling on my face and get back to sleep at the end of it.

Sounds like a BUSY PLAN FOR A BUSY DAY but at least you won't get bored enough to fall asleep?

Assuming I don't fall asleep from sheer exhaustion on the way there. Yep. I ALSO have to keep from eating all the chocolate because when I get tired... yeah.
