Tar éis (after) is followed by the genitive case.

dinnéar, tar éis an dinnéir - after (the) dinner
lón, tar éis an lóin - after (the) lunch
Aifreann, tar éis an Aifrinn - after (the) Mass
céim, tar éis na céime - after (getting, implied) the degree

It is also used with the verbal noun to refer to something which happened. Compare:
Bhuail mé leo. I met them.
Táim tar éis bualadh leo. I have just met them.
D'éirigh sé. He has got up.
Tá sé tar éis éirí. He has just got up.
D'imigh sí. She left.
Tá sí tar éis imeach. She has just left.

Ar (on) without lenition, aka only in some set phrases:
ar muir is ar tír - on land and sea
ar dualgas - on duty
ar cíos - for rent
ar díol - for sale
ar fáll - available
ar buile - angry
ar melsce - drunk
ar siúl - taking place, underway

Still tired. Or exhausted. Want to curl up and cry and then sleep for a week. Sadly, not so much; have to work. And, you know. Do blog stuff. And I just realized that this is probably a Sign. I don't much like it.

Yesterday was all the failed attempts at communicating. Today is all the attempts at editing, we'll see how that goes. And yes, I am that morose today. Fuck trying to be positive or even-handed today, do not have the energy for it. I'm doing everything backwards just so I can work up the energy to do all my exercises. And not yell at people. Although the boy killing video game goblins by John Woo-ing arrows off of cave walls and into their elbows is kind of hilarious.

So, struggling on, one task at a time. Maybe today will be better, is the perpetual ... something. No, there it went. Fuck. Exercise.
