That crash happened early and hit my emotional centers as well as the physical, with the end result that I am now freaking out about money (go go fillings and tires needed all at once!) and about no one wanting to buy my book or liking it (what the hell, brain, I'm not even finished with the FIRST round of edits yet) and about never being able to find work again (YOU SPEAK HOW MANY LANGUAGES?) and about being a failure as an adult and in short I need to pin this picture up on my dartboard and have at.
Fortunately after N years of CS and X years of being fucking stubborn I am getting web page translations and therefore language practice, and day job work done anyway. Fuck you, brainweasels. Besides, I've been reliably reformed that my chances of making 80th percentile on self-published books (and we're not even going to discuss how sad that is, but) is pretty good. So fuck you, brainweasels. I do not have time for this shit today.
Apart from line edits my intent today is to get at least the tools index and maybe the first section of the character questionnaire translated into the German today, and the tools index translated into Russian. Because fuck you Russian, why you hate me so much. (There's going to be a lot of swearing today. Maybe even tomorrow. Just, fair warning.) And then at least two scenes worth of line edits and working on the Luna Station submission all this evening, because it really needs to be finished. I'm not entirely sure what the fuck is going ON, but that's about par for the course with Black Ice. Pretty much I'll read it over, decide where it fits in the timeline, and trust the mold. Say nothing! Trust the mold! Shit, I need cover art for the anthology, don't I. Shit shit shit.
ETA: Okay, apparently, not so much. So, my statement of intent for the evening: Japanese and Russian tool index translated once I get home and have my dictionary. Luna Station submissions plus Juke Joint Jezebel. And posting an index of Works in Progress/projected works because come on, self. Let's get a bit more organized?
