The English verb to be can refer to either something that is happening at the moment of speaking or something that happens regularly. Therefore the same I am is used in I am at home now and I am(usually/normally) at home on Mondays. The Irish equivalents of these sentences require two different forms of tá (is), namely the ordinary present táim (or tá mé) (I am) and a special 'habitual' present bím (I regularly am).

Táim sa bhaile anois. I am at home now.
Bím sa bhaile ar an Luan. I am at home on Mondays.
Bím sa bhaile uaireanta ar an Luan. I am sometimes at home on Mondays.
Bím sa bhaile de ghnáth ar an Luan. I am usually at home on Mondays.
Bím sa bhaile i gcónaí ar an Luan. I am always at home on Mondays.

As you can see, any degree of recurrence, be it frequent or infrequent, requires the habitual form. The full set of present habitual forms of tá, translated here for convenience as 'tends to be' is as follows:

bím, I tend to be
bíonn tú, you tend to be
bíonn sé, he tends to be
bíonn sí, she tends to be
bímid, we tend to be
bíonn sibh, you tend to be
bíonn siad, they tend to be

Typical uses of these are:

Bím anseo gach lá. I am here every day.
Bím ar saoire i Mí Lúnasa. I am on vacation in August (annually). (Oh, hey, DragonCon.)
Bíonn sé go brá anseo. It tends to be fine here.
Bíonn an aimsir go breá sa Spáinn. The weather tends to be good in Spain.

Bíonn an bia go deas anseo. The food is invariably nice here.

Ní bhíonn ocras orm ar maidin. I don't feel hungry in the morning.

Bíonn sé tinn go minic. He is often sick.
Bíonn siad déanach i gcónaí. They are always late.
Bíonn céilí anseo ar an Aoine. A céilí is held here on Fridays.
Bíonn Aifreann anseo ar a deich. Mass takes place here at ten.

Oh Jimmy Nesbitt, why so fucking creepy.

Still more tired than anything, even though I should be... panicking, maybe? Maybe not. Definitely tired though. Taking Irish and such to the netbook and the couch may have been a mistake, I'm bundled up and warm and don' wanna go to work. Especially not when the boy comes home in the morning and is all 'it's really fucking icy out there.' Now I really don't want to go out. At least I have cocoa at work.

Something something stuff. Writing work I have to do, and I need to see if I have to get anything in particular for next week's cooking. Mostly mustard powder, but, oh, I also need an onion, don't I. And suchlike. I definitely am a fan of the big kitchen though, it makes batch cooking and preplanning meals SO much more pleasanter and therefore easier.

But, ooh, payday and therefore I can hit up the ABC store for BOOZE. I know I need mixings at least for whiskey chicken, but I might get something for adulterating cocoa too, and see if I can find something for chocolate martinis without too much trouble. That's three kinds of booze. I need to figure out what else I need to stock. Make my lists and then haul my dumb ass out of the store and into the other stores where such things can be bought. Because sadly, the store where I work does not sell spices and booze.

And I still don't want to go out. I just fed the birds and it is fucking blustery out there.

If your store sold spices and booze on top of what it does, I might seriously consider moving there and camping in it for life.
