Okay, I have no idea what this is, it's on a friend's tumblr, but that is pretty much the most hilariousest prank ever. I wish my archaeology professor could see that. If he's watching from that great Dig in the sky, I'm sure he's laughing his ass off.
I woke up today to a house that was 64 degrees and it was awesome. (Fahrenheit, that is. If it had been 64 degrees Celsius that would be much less awesome. ...ow, I just converted it, significantly less awesome, I'd be living out of the fridge or in a cold shower.) Anyway. Apart from waking up later than I meant due to not going to bed on time due to my own damn foolishness, I got my exercises done! And then I cleaned and tidied some through my customary language hour, which is why this post is so late.
Chugging along the Haven essay, which didn't get finished last night as I was hoping. Because reasons. I don't even remember what those reasons were, just that there were some. Today, hopefully, in between the little I have to do at work, it'll get done. It's about halfway through! And then more Yuletide and some of the Talia Wayne AU, and that should be enough for one afternoon/evening. I'm both looking forward to and not looking forward to tonight's Haven. On the one hand, we're coming up on the time when our watching and recaplysizing is no longer prompted or restricted by airtimes. On the other hand, answers dammit give you me some! And while we're supposed to get a lot of answers this season, I have no doubt that the boys will provide more questions along with it. You know the Futurama episode (or maybe you don't) where Zoidberg's underwater home burns down, Zoidberg asks why and someone says "That's a very good question," then Bender pulls up a cigar and takes a puff (it's still lit) and is all "So that's where my cigar went" and someone: "That just raises further questions!"... yes, you know that one? Well, you do now, and that's how I feel. Dammit, Sam and Jim, that just raises further questions!
Brr. I'm now colder at work than I am at home, which is pretty much how it should be. I know we have the phrase on the internet, first world problems, but I don't know how much we stop to appreciate first world pleasures. Like indoor plumbing, hot and cold. And climate controls. And lights that turn on and off when you want the room to be bright or dark. These are awesome, awesome things. And I am very glad to have them.
I was going to say something else but then I looked at the headlines again and there went my day. I'm going to go get some more work done, both essays and day job work, before I punch someone. Or cry. Or both. For those of you wondering what the fuck just happened, look in news headlines for Connecticut. Or don't. I highly recommend don't.
