There was once a young Hunter who went boldly into the forest. He had a merry and light heart, and as he was whistling along there came an ugly old woman who said to him, "Good day, dear hunter! You are very merry and contented, but I suffer hunger and thirst, so give me a trifle."
The hunter felt sorry for the poor old woman, and he felt in his pocket and gave her all he could spare. He was going on, then, but the old woman stopped him and said, "Listen, dear hunter, to what I say. Because of your kind heart I will make you a present..."
Давным-давно жил-был (?) молодой охотник, кто в лес жирнно [find the proper adverbial form] пошёл. У его былo сердце весёлoе и лёгкoе, и за [something. verb in progressive?] пошла уродливая бабушка, которая ему сказала
-Добрый день, [not quite sure on this] охотник. Вы очень весёлый и доволный, но я испываю голод и жажду, поэтому давай мне капельку.
Охотнику
Note: плохо is 'bad' as in 'mal', probably for the other older lady in the picture. Translates better in this context to 'wicked'?
Well that was my whole morning disrupted by waking up an hour late. I have no idea what happened to my alarm clock, it was still set, but it definitely didn't wake me up. So, no exercise for me this morning either, which is mildly irksome. I might actually at that rate take my Japanese books to work and do that at work so that I don't have to do it at home, and can do some dance exercise there. Ugh.
That said, at least what distracted me from Russian was much more pleasant house stuff! Things and stuff, I'm definitely in that stage where I don't want to jinx it, but there should be some word Monday.
Getting back into my routines is sort of working, though exercise needs a kick in the ass. I want to say, another week working on that, except my routines are about to be thoroughly and immediately disrupted. Ugh. And there's a shitpile of things on my to-do list that I want to do, most of which can't be done until this weekend or next week. Which leaves me with writing and knitting, neither of which are terrible things, but still argh. It's all incredibly frustrating. At least I got some more analysis done last night, as well as some caps for the other analysis to go up on Murderboarding. And if we get really carried away (probably not in the immediate future, though) soon there will be Haven analysis and dotplots to go with the Grimm analysis. We can blame Haven coming back for that one, along with Dwight Hendrickson what the fuck did you do to your hair? His beautiful long locks! They're all gone! Well, all short now. I has a sad. I liked his golden retriever puppy look.
Actually, in the lines of Haven is coming back, I went and re-read some of my Haven fanfics for Yuletide from last year. I'd forgotten how much I liked them, which isn't always the case for me after I'm done with a fic. I've avoided going back and re-reading most of my Once Upon a Time fic, for example, but I'm still really proud of the Haven stuff. And if anyone has any Dwight or Duke or Nathan fics to rec (gen, please, I'm not yet ready to dip my toe in the Duke/Nathan or OT3 pool) I'd love to read some more. The whole universe is really fun to wallow around in. Today, though, finishing up some old WIPs. And for the forseeable future. Dammit. I will not get distracted. Really. I promise. XD
ETA: SD;KJSDHFAGK;JDFHGSKDJFS WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THIS THING I WAS GOING TO POST ABOUT BUT NOW WON'T BECAUSE IF I'M HAVING STALKING URGES THIS BAD OTHER PEOPLE MIGHT TOO. WHY WAS THIS NOT LISTED AMONG MY ASSETS IN THE FIRST PLACE. AUGH.

Date: 2012-09-13 02:39 pm (UTC)*HUGS FIRMLY* Woman, translating into a foreign language is the hardest. Translating into Russian is a pain in the ass. You are allowed to make mistakes, and you have conveyed the meaning without making me confused and bewildered. And that's a lot for the first out-of-the-textbook try.

Date: 2012-09-13 02:47 pm (UTC)Yes'm. *hugs tight* Stupid weasels. I think the parsing had just gotten easy enough that I got used to coasting. Which, see, there, it does get easier, and this will too. So there! *stomps weasel heads*

Date: 2012-09-13 03:12 pm (UTC)Although that doesn't help when out of the three Dwight fics on AO3, one of them is mine, one of them is a complete AU, and one of them is Dwight as an intro to relatively explicit Nathan/Duke. ARGH.
I hate weasels. On the plus side I've consistently scored over 90% on the vocab stuff on Memrise, so. That's something?

Date: 2012-09-13 02:35 pm (UTC)Apparently the guy who plays Dwight on Haven lives in my town. It's not that big a town. This is probably one of the first times I've felt justified using the phrase "Mind. Blown."
