Whereas Snow only wanted to save her people and/or find a way to stop the pain of heartbreak, which being a widower he can probably empathize with. If he remembers that at all, by that point, though. And Snow knew there would be a price and accepted it. And he, when he was human, just wanted to save his son and maybe all the children who were dragged off to war. And STILL got in way over his head.
