Oof. It's raining. It's STILL raining, and the Weather Service has declared a flood warning for at least one neighboring county. On the plus side there's only one thing incoming for UPS today and it looks like it might even be a light day. So, yay?

And in case you guys didn't see this last night with me and my bouncing up and down and my multple "DUDE"ings, scientists broke the speed of light. Not by much, but the fact that it's broken at all is a big big thing. Mapping the human genome big. This will change our currently imagined possibilities for space travel, for a lot of things. It's mind-blowing. This is... it's not quite finding out we're not alone in the universe big, but it's damn close. Missing link big? Something like that.

I missed the GOP debate last night in favor of scooping my eyes out with a melon baller watching some truly execrable episodes of Criminal Minds. Seriously, what the hell, you guys? That's not my show. My show does not spout off inaccurate TV stereotype psychobabble and make leapy judgments of profiling that have no basis in anything because they have insufficient fucking data. Ahem. Not that the last season irritated me or anything. I hear good things about the new season, but I have all the misgivings. All of them.

Well, on the one hand, I forgot my netbook, so I can't finish the Japanese from last night. On the other hand, hopefully I can get a lot of writing done! Incoming isn't that bad; we'll see how crazy it gets with the outgoing.

And I still squee every time I use the "learning: irish" tag.
