That's one of the things I've heard. Also that he wallows in the shit for the sake of wallowing and not for the sake of telling a story, that he's a captivating storyteller, that he takes too much delight in skewering stereotypes, that he takes just enough delight... something. I'm not sure what to think. But I might as well give them a try.
If nothing else, nothing I've heard about them has made me think I'll attempt to throw my Kindle across the room in disgust at bad writing.
