1. The subject pronouns du and Sie.
Du Is equivalent to you and is used when addressing a relative, close friend, or person under approximately 15 years of age. In the tenth grade some teachers start to address pupils with Sie. Members of groups such as students, athletes, laborers, and soldiers also usually address each other as du. It is used when talking to one person and is referred to as the familiar form. The word for you used to address more than one friend, relative, etc, will be explained in the next chapter.
Dein(e) is equivalent to your. It is used with a person to whom you say du.
Sie is also equivalent to you but is a more formal form of address, and is used when addressing a stranger or adult with whom the speaker is not on intimate terms. Sie is used when speaking to one person or more than one person.
Ihre is equivalent to your and is used with a person to whom you say Sie. In writing, Sie and Ihre are capitalized. Dein and Ihr modify masculine and neuter nouns. Deine and Ihre modify feminine nouns.
Костя, ты читаешь русские газеты?
Да, я читаю «Московские новости» и «Аргументы и факты» Я люблю русские журналы тоже. Я, например, регулярно читаю «Новый мир» и «Огонёк».
А какие газеты ты читаешь?
Я читаю «Литературную газету», потому что я люблю русскую литературу.
Note to self: work on which exercises you want to review BEFORE you do it. That way you know if it's enough. Although admittedly the accusative case is pretty simple, STILL.
