So. Dude. I took pictures of my minis? And it took about... maybe an hour, hour and a half of fiddling with the lights (I need to remember NOT to do it in a room where the sun is shining on them) and the camera settings and the setup and so on? But I think I have achieved some pretty damn spectacular mini pictures.

Goblin Wolf! I can't even remember what I painted this for, but I remember I painted this for something in a game. I think it was a werewolf in a Deadlands game.

Swamp Thing! I didn't paint this for any particular reason, although it did get used as a bad guy a couple of times. I just wanted to paint it, and I had it to hand.

TROLL. TROLL IN THE DUNGEON. Actually, that wouldn't make a bad icon. I painted this for the boy's D&D game, because he needed lots of trolls. It's funny, because he'll tell me "Hey, I need you to paint X and Y mini for game in two sessions (four weeks)" and I'll look at him and go "you're sending us up against what??" In this case, trolls. Plural. I think he had me paint five or six. I thought I had a troll matron picture still around here somewhere, but maybe the glare on her was too bad.

Orc armies! This was another thing the boy had me paint for game, although I think I painted twice as many orcs as I actually needed. Two or three of you might remember when I kept complaining of having green hands. One of you made a comment about it being the fault of Ninja Leprechauns. I still have those leprechauns that I need to paint up as ninjas for you. And the cymbal monkey. Anyway, orcs! If I solve some of my picture taking problems the rest will probably turn up. Or some of them.

Gargoyles! I actually have a lot of these, in various colors. No reason, they were just on sale really cheap, easy to paint, and I like gargoyles.

Ganesh! After the Tsunami That Swallowed Half of Asia one of the mini companies, Reaper Miniatures, put out this and another baby elephant mini for tsunami relief fundraising; some percentage of the profit (I forget what) of the sale of those minis went to tsunami relief. I don't remember where my baby elephant went, but this guy turned out well.

Dire rat! Two angles, because I couldn't decide what was better. I like doing animals, they're simpler for me most times than humans. Or humanoids. Anything with arms and legs. Again, no reason, I just wanted to paint a dire rat.

Archer of Anubis. No reason on this one either, but it was the coolest mini they had at the Paint and Take (an event at GenCon where they put out paints and donated, primed minis, you paint them, and then you get to keep them. They have wandering painters and some sculptors there so you can get tips on painting) so I painted. And I took him home with me. He actually turned out better than the picture I took of him did.

More pictures as I figure out this whole mini picture taking thing. I know the principle and the theory, but I'm still getting used to the practice.

So, yeah, any time you see me going on and on about painting minis, this is what I'm talking about. It's annoyingly sitting still hunched over work, but damned if they don't look really nifty when they're done. I may put something in there for size reference later, most of them are between, um, an inch tall (well, dire rat!) to, maybe four inches tall? No, I'll put in a ruler later so you guys can see. I actually have no idea.
