Russian. Possibly to be followed up by German. Ooghtired. I am so glad my aunt gets back in town today. That said, the extra walking is probably doing me good? But ooh tired. At least I got some editing done last night.

A reporter wants to interview a visiting Russian student and has asked you to interpret. Use the verbs you have just practiced.

1. What’s your name? Он спрашивает, как ваше имя-отчество?
2. What’s your last name? Он спрашивает, как ваша фамилия?
3. Where do you go to school? Он спрашивает, где вы сейчас учитесь?
4. Which university? Он спрашивает, в каком университете? (preposition! unlike English it may not be omitted)
5. That’s very interesting. In what department? Он говорит, очень интересно. (Which is how you say that as a remark unconnected with a noun.) На каком кафедре?
6. So your major is history? Он спрашивает, вас какaя ваша специальность?
7. That’s very good. Do you know English? Он говорит, очень хорошо. Вы знаете английский язык?
8. Are you studying English now? Он спрашвает, вы теперь изучаете английский язык теперь? (right word, wrong position)
9. Goodbye. (Он говорит) до свидания.
