Oh, look who hasn't gotten any better about posting her German. Yep, that would be me. Feh.
Here goes a brief spiel on the nominative case, and how English uses word order and every other bloody language uses case.
In the nominative case, the German definite article has three forms: der, das, die. They are all equivalent to “the” in English.
Wie War das Wetter? Look at the pictures and words below. Using the adjectives in the list, decide what the weather was like on each day. Be sure to use the correct article with the noun under the picture.
e.g. Am Samstag (time marker) war (verb, past tense, third person) der Regen (predicate noun) stark. (adjective).
Am Montag war die Sonne heiß.
Am Dienstag war der Morgen kalt.
Am Mittwoch war der Abend kühl.
Am Donnerstag war der Wind nass.
Am Freitag war der Tag schlecht.
Am Samstag war der Regen stark.
Am Sonnabend/Sonntag war der Wetter warm.
Was kostet --? Your partner is moving and wants to sell a few things. Ask how much each item costs.
Was kostet der Tisch?
Was kostet die Uhr?
Was kostet die Lampe?
Was kostet das Buch?
Was kostet der Stuhl?
Was kostet der Computer?
Was kostet das Radio?
Was kostet der Rucksack?
So, basically, this is just memorizing pronouns and genders of things. Bah. I’ll do that as I go. Plurals. German has five ways of forming the plural for nouns.
