kittydesadeSuccessful day today, even if I didn't get any of the sewing I meant to do, done. I still did my exercise, got a good amount of sleep in, some writing, and still have time to do more writing.
I have lining! I have my red lining back, which is lovely and nice and now I can make my lighter coat. And I bought another chunk of lining so that I can make my heavier coat out of denim. Experiments with the dye pots will commence on Tuesday, which is my next day off. Actual dying and sewing will probably commence when I get back from DC. But, yes. Lining. And buttons! I have buttons for my coat, little gold ones some with Chinese characters and some with some kind of coat of arms I'm not sure what it's from. And I already have the shell fabric, red thread, and everything else necessary. Beautiful.
Went and saw Pan's Labyrinth with the boy and the Pirate. It was, much like Antubis, horrible and beautiful. Not horrible in the sense of it being a bad movie, quite the opposite actually, but there was quite a bit of horror on my part. And thank god it was in Spanish, because I could close my eyes and still follow along without having to peek at the subtitles. But it was very beautiful, and I enjoyed it immensely.
Then we went to dinner and discussed me sewing costumes for a career. Which would be nice, but I think initially I'll start with getting a stock of costumes ready for the local Renne Faire. Which, since it's inseveral six months, would not be that hard. Six? I think so. If I recall right it starts Labor Day weekend. I may try that.
Also picked up Narnia in Spanish so as to brush up on my Spanish and get a vocabulary somewhere above a twelve year old's. And the first Dresden book! Woot!
So, yes. All in all, a good day. I do need to remember to do my Query Letters and post them Tuesday. Which is about four days late. Bleh. I should get better about doing this, but at least I'm keeping to the resolution of once a month batches? I did study my Japanese today and exercise, and I have a schedule of languages to study, two a day, four at a time. Brushing up on French, Spanish, and Japanese, and picking up Russian. Once I get somewhere with either French or Spanish, whichever first, I'll slide German in there. Hopefully I can keep it up if I write short bits of fiction in whichever languages I'm not actively studying.
Did I mention it was a good day? Because it was. A good, nice, productive day. And now I have TV!Dresden! With Bob the Terence fucking Mann. Books aside, I could adore this show just for him.
