Arrgh... didn't get nearly as much as I wanted to done yesterday, and it's already 3:15 today. Let's see how much I can get done today, I suppose.

Still not sure what to think of Natlitcrethingie. On the one hand, there's a definite air of... for lack of any better term, snootyness... that's going to, I think, drive away some of the younger and thinner-skinned authors. On the other hand, it's a good idea to have an environment where you get brutalized in much the same way as you would if you were actually submitting to publishing companies. I'll give it a whirl, it's still new.

Blah. Almost actually done with the Martine story, at least, almost up to 50k words. Likewise with the Sofia story, and both Storms and Tarot are coming along nicely. Not that Tarot, as so many people have pointed out lately, is really a novel. But... I've still no idea what to do with it. So, at a guess, it'll get broken down for pieces and used later on, most specifically the philosophical debate parts about the sense of self that so many of my characters seem to have.

Thief ... either needs a main villain or needs to get reworked from the ground up. We'll see what I have time for.

Weekend was good, relaxing, got a decent amount of writing done. Got no writing done on game day whatsoever, but I think I'm making that up nicely.

AUGH! Shooting pains up my BACK! I hate you, back. And I can tell that you hate me.

Ugh. I need a shower, I need clean clothes, and... bleh. Oh well, writing comes first.

All-around favorite: Labyrinth. Natch.

Best Sci-fi/Fantasy genre: Um. Crap. I have to pick a best? I hate you. Ummm... Legend, I guess, since Princess Bride was a book first and Last Unicorn's animated.

Best action movie: The Transporter. Four words. Jason Statham Greased Up.

Best romance: I... guh. Um? Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. Because you know Tick and Adam were SO cute together.

Best teen zeitgeist movie: I've heard of teen angst, but teen zeitgeist? Teen pathos, maybe. Um.

Best all-out comedy: Grosse Pointe Blank.

Best musical: Absolute Beginners, although I doubt anyone but me and the people I've subjected to it have heard of it. Followed closely thereafter by A Chorus Line.

Best animated: The Last Unicorn. Natch.

Best documentary: Roger and Me. Or maybe Bowling for Columbine, although I haven't seen it yet.

Best escapist fantasy: Okay, what the hell is Escapist Fantasy? Um. Since I get a second try, Ladyhawke. So sad. :(

Best "bad" movie: Ballistic: Ecks Versus Sever. If only because Ray Park, the biggest, chunkiest, baddest mofo in the movie, has such a high-pitched voice! Cheeeee...

Best chick flick: Steel Magnolias.

Best space opera: You know, I can't think of any space opera besides Star Wars. This bothers me, because while it was good, I certainly don't think it was the best. Um. I give up. There has to be something else.

Best dark comedy: Does Clockwork Orange count?

Best magical realism: Just so I can put 'Neverwhere' on there somewhere.
