Jan. 25th, 2021 11:53 amAt some point ever I will get back into the habit of not just going to bed, but also going to sleep on time. Although at last getting into bed on time is a start. But this morning I was sleepy enough to fuck up a lab by putting a file in the wrong directory and spent ten to twenty minutes wondering why the hell this wasn't working before I realized. So that's going on.
I did call my dentist and cancel my appointment, barely in time, like a ... well, like a stressed person in slowly un-stressening times. Mailed off some insurance stuff and some investment stuff and a bunch of Postcards to Voters and now I need to get the name of the boy's dentist yet again and see if they're taking new patients and set up a cleaning because of reasons. Get my files transferred. I wish my old dentist still took my insurance but they weren't on the list when we looked them up on the insurance site. This is a terrible way to run a national health anything, but we're stuck with it for at least the next several years.
(Oop, dentist's office called back, they might be able to do my plan after all? I'm going to find the details and call them back at some point.)
Class today was going all right except for being tired until I ran into one section that, I don't know if I would have been able to get it if I felt better rested, but damn. I feel like I'm supposed to get it through the hints that have been provided for me and it's just not happening, it's just making me extra irritable. Hopefully study group will help.
(Study group did not help. Today is going to be an even longer day than I thought.)
Well. I finally got my lab code working, after an extremely annoying round and round with a guy who wouldn't believe that I understood the concept, I just wasn't sure if I had the syntax right. For extra bonus aggravation, when I finally got that portion of the code working it turned out that I had gotten the syntax right, which I'd pasted to him, and the problem was entirely somewhere else. Then I went through two more help line people to get the rest of the code working but at least they were cheerful, didn't assume I didn't know what I was doing, and asked me to show them my code, explain it, checked other things, reminded me of things I forgot (constantly)(I don't know why I do this I just do), so all's well that ends well.
And now I have to cook up a bunch of meat I was going to cook two hours ago so we have quickish meals for the rest of the week. Ugh. This day, I fucking swear. Hopefully tomorrow ends up going better in terms of tech school anyway, I have my project review. Gaaah.
