Dec. 18th, 2019 12:31 pmSo I'm not doing very good at updating this every day, but I'm getting better about regularly updating, and that's something.
Both of my usual Christmas boxes came, my box of trinkets and a cheque from Mom and trinkets from one of my other aunts. I got a number of small clutch purse and pen case type bags, including the roll case I'd asked for from Mom pretty much entirely because I think roll cases are cool. So that's going to become my new pens and pencils case and the one I'm carrying all my pens and pencils in now will become my Copic case, but I also need to sort it all out at home in my office. Which I have. I have an office. It has walls and bookshelves and a papasan chair. I am absurdly excite about this even if I'm doing a shit job at keeping my desk clean. Part of that is because I'm still sorting through the mess that was in there to start off, but part of it is I haven't gotten into the habit of dedicating five minutes at the end of the day to putting things away. Ah well. Poco a poco.
So I deposited my check for $Texas from Mom and promptly ordered $Maryland worth of Copics, ahahah oh well. I'd planned on that, though, so that's fine, and once I have all of THOSE Copics I'll swatch them on some notebook paper and see if there's any types of colors (dark colors? deep colors?) I'm missing, but if there aren't I should be good on markers and colored art supplies for the next ever. It's a lot of Copics, even allowing that Copics are the pricey bougie marker. But BOY do I love drawing with alcohol markers. I have done more drawing in the last couple weeks with the alcohol markers than I have in six months ish? It's a lot of drawing.
I'm also still sending cards out! Hit me up in a PM with an address if you want a card with a randomass cartoon on it.
Work started out the week with 600lbs plus of yarn dropping on our doorstep, and me with a slight chest cold. But it's gotten moderately calmer since then, so that's nice, especially since all I want to do is curl up at home and clean and draw and write and catch up on fifty thousand books. I haven't finished a book in about a month. I only managed about 45 books this year. I have a bunch of books I'm excited to eventually read, but I keep either forgetting to or not being able to make time to read them, and ugh. Something to work on next year.
But I am making time to practice both guitar and bass. I in fact practiced on bass to the point where I could play Seven Nation Army along with the mp3, so that's a positive! And I'm back to my usual speed on the guitar, slowly paring down the songs I want to learn, I think I picked up too many last time. Too many battles. Put some battles back.
