May. 1st, 2019 10:13 amI was so excited yesterday, I had a whole big thing about my Camp Nanowrimo novel and the overall series and where I wanted to go, what I wanted to do with it, and then someone went and fucking shot up UNC Charlotte campus and I had about another hour and a half, two hours worth of energy in me after I found that out before I crashed of tired and sad. Fuck everything but especially the NRA.
In an attempt to recapture some of the joy of yesterday's writing progress, I worked on the overall arc of Lifestyles and got some ideas for some things, sort of a progression for book four which is new and the original book four has been pushed to book five. The titles, by the way, are as follows:
1. Maybe She's Born With It (Maybe It's Malachy)
2. Lifestyles of the Witch and Famous
3. I Know What You Did Last Century (the one I just finished drafting for this year's Camp Nano)
4. The Scion The Witch and the War Room (the new book pushing its way in)
5. Breakfast at Sidonie's (originally book four)
6.Jagged Little Spell
7. Hold Me Closer Necromancer (tentative)
8. A Lich Called Wanda (tentative)
And those are tentative mostly because I don't know if the overall arc is going to stay where it is, but so far so good. I feel energized. I feel like an organized, competent, adult, professional writer again, and yes all those adjectives are necessary qualifiers, especially the first one. It's doing wonders for my mental state, even if yesterday's asshole with a gun didn't. Hopefully I can ride that former wave today and not the latter one.
Garden continues to flourish indoors and out. I need to get the snapdragons into the planters post-haste, I'll probably just transfer a coconut basket filler from one further into the shade into the one the bears tore down so I can get a second coconut basket filler at my leisure. Echinacea... may or may not be coming up? Bee balm certainly is. Borage is exploding itself into large healthy stems. I need to weed the ground the rosemary's going to go in and then keep weeding it and take care of the lavender. Stuff, things. I need to do the other bed this weekend, put the popped out slat back, and fill it with pearlite and then plant the peppers. And the weekend is coming sooner than I thought. But I'm glad that I finally seem to have the energy to do all of this. It's a good feeling.
Hopefully now that excessively large Nano is done with I can get back to practicing guitar, languages, etc, keeping track of it all in the BuJo. I've let that lapse over the last month, for predictable reasons. We'll see. I'll work on it. Maybe do better next Camp Nano in July.
Oh! And it's my ten year Dreamwidthiversary! It kind of snuck up on me in that I saw it coming a couple weeks ago and then promptly forgot. I don't even know what to do with it except I've been loving this platform for the last ten years, I'm glad it's still here, I'm glad it's by the people and for the people. Thank you, Dreamwidth, for giving me a place to host my thoughts for ten years! Here's to ten more!
