Sep. 10th, 2018 06:03 pmThere. So, if anyone in my flist or on DW network is a Hellblazer fan and wants to find out how nuConstnatine stacks up against old, I may have written a smol facebook screed on the subject. It came up in conversation when I stopped by the local comics store to pick up the next two Hellblazer trades and I told them I'd do a writeup on facebook, so I did.
I got a rejection from the train anthology thing that I submitted last year. I remember it was around DragonCon last year, and I submitted it, and they said they'd get back to us by something like December or January? And then radio silence. And then in May, I think? Or June? They said they'd get back to the people who were accepted in a month. And then nothing. And holy shit you guys. When you blow multiple deadlines by multiple months I consider myself lucky not to have to deal with you publishing my story. YIKES.
Ah well. They were extremely apologetic for not including my story, which was weird, rather than for going months at a time without an update for anyone or for giving a false idea of how soon they'd get back, which would have been understandable. I don't even mind waiting for months to find out about a story submission, but for the love of little blue teacups tell me that's how long I'm going to be waiting. Anyway. And they said it wasn't my writing it was just that it didn't fit in the anthology so, whatever, I'll include it in another novel as a coda somewhere.
Bullet journaling coming along... less well over the weekend? I also just wasn't very organized as far as writing went over the weekend. Reading yes. Writing not so much. Which is predictable since DragonCon was last weekend and it usually takes me at least two weeks to rest up and let my brain recover. As a thing for keeping track of writing things to do, the bullet journal works marginally better than Habitica, but only marginally. But again, we'll see if it becomes a long-term habit. If nothing else it's fun to doodle in, and it gives me a place to both practice my sketching and pretend I'm working on writing at the same time so my brain doesn't go "BUT YOU SHOULD BE WRITING" I want to be an artist someday, brain, that also requires practice, and I don't absolutely have to spend every moment of every day on the words. I can do the pictures sometimes too. Oy.
