Still tired. But moderately less so given that I slept last night with very few dreams, none of note or particularly disturbing. I vaguely remember the boy waking me up at 6.15 to tell me it was 6.15, which I took to mean yay you slept through the night and which actually meant my phone had gone off. I didn't think my news alerts were that loud, and I'd set it for 7? Which I finally remembered when I woke up after two snooze button hits and it was 7.30. Le sigh.

And now I'm halfway falling asleep at my desk. This is good. This is fine.

Went out last night to a taproom owned by a coworker of the boy's with her husband. It was pretty good, I got blackberry cider which was very nice, and we all sat around and talked. I gave her my business card, which was a bit weird but what the hell, I keep them around. The side result of all of this is that we didn't get home until ten on a capoeira night so that likely is the cause of some of the exhaustion. I'll manage. (It turns out I'll manage by doing capoeira kicks in the box room which although it doesn't give me as much confidence in my abilities as I'd like, is good for the shot of adrenaline.)

Harlan Ellison died somehow, which feels a bit strange because I thought he'd died years ago and we were all just collectively deciding to ignore it. I'm not sure how I feel about him as a person, although as an author he influenced me as he did so many others. May his family find peace with his memory.

I have nothing to say on the subject of Annapolis. I want to curl up under the desk and sleep for years.

I did finally pick out a novella to write for Tor, and I feel pretty good both about the novella and its chances. I did it at about 10pm at night so I couldn't get started on it, but hey. It's still more than I had before. Which I guess means I'm writing two novellas in a month. Maybe I'd better up my Camp Nanowrimo goal to suit.
