kittydesade: (put some pants on)
And the weekend was going so well. I got a buttload of cleaning done, the guest room is fairly well cleared out of things that are not books (I'm leaving the books in there in case she wants reading material) or blankets or pillows or things, I even managed to get some writing and studying done around all that. And I got to bed roughly on time Sunday night! And then at five-fucking-thirty in the morning Murdock and Little Bit decided it was the hour of scampering, and proceeded to pound paws all around the upper floor where I was attempting to sleep. So most of between then and seven thirty was spent trying to get back to sleep, where I'd hoped to get up and get more shit done. Le sigh.

Anyway. Curtains and sheets for the bed are ordered since I didn't find the set of full sheets for the guest/boarder bed until late last night. Well, that just means she'll have two cotton sets and one flannel set. That's good enough to keep around for guests and the occasional random hi my roommate situation just crashed and burned boarder. Curtain rods got ordered too, because the blinds in there have suffered one too many cat attacks to really be presentable. Or, possibly, sturdy. And an assortment of hooks and things; the only thing we need now is the particle board to block up that one cat hidey hole. We can work with the cats hiding under beds and couches and in corners and on bookshelves, but I draw the line at the cat hiding in the house. And by in the house I mean in the actual walls and between the floors.

And yes, given the current housing economy and state of things, I am not counting that she'll be able to move out at graduation. Get a job, maybe, yes, but I may delicately suggest that she may want to stay here and at least save her pennies for a rental deposit and maybe a junker car or something, because what we'd charge would be way cheaper than her own apartment. (Her family might help her out there too if she has a job, that sounds like the kind of thing my family would help with at least. Oh, you have a job but you have $Montana sized initial outlay expenses to get set up here let us help with that. But I don't know what her family's like.)

... I've just realized that I've filled about two Moleskines with Japanese practice. O.o I have no idea how that happened. I mean I do, but O.o nonetheless. Fortunately other people seem to have the same "where do I go after the genki books" problem as I do, so now I have a title to hit up after Genki II. Which should be in a week to ten days. Heh.

I have no idea how I've managed to get ready for work on time, you know. Absolutely no idea. I'm still only half awake and I've only had M&Ms for breakfast. Which is less stress eating than they were last night and more ugh I have a millimeter of milk left in the jug why did I put it back in the fridge instead of recycling it. Work looks reasonable but not horribly busy, so at least there's that and I can probably get a chunk of things done at work so I don't have to do them tonight and I can finish up some household things. I promise there's only a few more things I want to get done! Mostly put away my knitting things and maybe straighten my craft room so I can find shit again, rather than making it presentable because the door stays closed there. And cut and cook chicken, but that's a regular thing.

I need just... three or four days where the most frazzled I am is trying to write five things at once. Somehow that has become, probably through familiarity, the place of safety as far as frazzling goes. Don't ask me how that happened except I have been juggling so many damn things right now. Thank god for Habitica.

(I also realized today that I need to get a safety deposit box, which I should do tomorrow or Wednesday when I'm less frazzled except now that I know I need to do it guess when I'm going to do it? If you guessed probably today, you're right.)

Safety deposit box? Safe deposit box? WHAT THE HELL EVER. English is not my strong suit right now.

On the plus side while I wrote this I did hear back from her and I have until Wednesday to get the rest of the house settled down. So at least that's a day or so! I can totes finish getting the house settled by then. (Seriously, it's small stuff like wiping down counters and changing the water pitcher filter, so that's not bad.) Hell, maybe even Tuesday night I'll spend going to bed early and playing Diablo. God knows I could use it. I could also use my brain shutting up about all the things I need to do, but like that ever happens.
