Feb. 4th, 2016 10:00 amSo Capoeira Puck Teacher Person led us on a merry trip down ow-fuck-ow road last night, by which I mean he led possibly the most vigorous class I've had in a while. Two hours straight, usually we stop for the last 30 to do singing, no, two hours straight. Bouncing across the room, pair work, individual exercises, augh. On the plus side somehow I'm not nearly as sore today as I was expecting.
I also may be in need in a couple weeks of tightening the straps on my hip pack another notch, which is a nice thing to be in need of. I started out a couple notches shy of the end on the leg strap, the waist strap hooks both in front and in back so it's hard to say how much further I have to go. But I don't think I'll need smaller straps for either? But it'd be nice to be able to tighten it a few notches more. Even if my scale says I weigh 3 pounds above my last average. Shut up scale, you don't know what you're talking about.
But on the plus side I did find a reasonable website to get my guitar scales off of last night. You can do short scales or the full damn set all over the fretboard, which basically amounts to here put your finger on every string on every fret except these five. But right now I'm starting with the C major scale from the top down, and it's pretty easy to play it, I just have to memorize it now. And see if I can translate that to sheet music which argh. I just don't DO guitar with sheet music. I don't. It doesn't happen.
Things, things and stuff. I want to get more writing, well, okay, things I want to get done today: clean my work desk, get more writing done, get at least two scenes edited in WL, get a bunch of tulips drawn, get maybe one more scale learned and then start attempting to read music with those scales. And make a batch of pumpkin bread because there's going to be a farewell roda this weekend and pumpkin bread. And actually now that I look at it like that .. oh, and grimmer things. But now that I look at it like that, that's not so bad. Which, once again, means I'd better stop yakking and get to.
Oh, and there's kind of plans afoot to go to GenCon for me, so if anyone's planning on going... hi? It's been a long long time since I've gone, and I mostly only worked there, and I'm looking forward to going and just wandering. Or hiding at the paint and take all day. Something like.
