Nov. 17th, 2015 10:34 amUuugh the numbers on the scale are going the wrong way again. Which is entirely due to my crap eating habits the last four or five days, I know this. I just. Ugh. Ugh in general. Cue the self-recrimination. Small amounts of it at least. The trick will be to do less guilty crap eating and more mindful better eating (like not binging on leftover Halloween candy bad self) and then they'll go back down again. Also remembering that even with the numbers going the wrong way, still weighing way less than I have! So, overall good, last week or two bad. Easy enough to fix.
Plus if I'm very very lucky my yarn for the sweater should get here today eeeeee. I'm not at all horribly excited to start yet another project shut up. I did get some progress on the third set of mitts at least, being potentially sick for another day or so has made me slower on the doing anything but lying there.
Though thinking of that. Augh. I have so, so many packages arriving over the next week. One of which is the wand I ordered before Dragon Con, ye gods that took forever without nary a word. Considering it's handcrafted I did expect it to take a while, but with nary a word despite two email inquiries? Ugh. Then there's the restock of my lotion, the limited edition lip gloss?es. A Christmas Present, my yarn today hopefully, and at some point my tracer Nenya for working days. And the case for my double points, come to think of that. And it's all been ordered over a span of weeks (to months in the case of the wand) but holy crap it's all coming this week. This keeps happening.
On the plus side, none of it's going to break the budget. I've been good. I've even been a good householder and scheduled the gutter cleaning/roof inspection/repair (hopefully the leak we found a couple months ago that doesn't seem to be an every time it rains leak really is some of the flashing pulled up, and they can fix that easy) and now I just need to call the chimney people and ask them to come take a look and give an estimate. That will probably be Arm + Leg, but the chimney really does need to be dealt with. The joys of home ownership. I mean, dear god it's better and cheaper these days than renting, I have no intentions of moving out of this town any time in the next 20-30 years, and it is enough space for us to live in forever, but eeech maintenance. Joys of home ownership. On the plus side, that might be the last major thing we do have to do. Which, considering the house is 160 years old and hadn't been lived in for 4-5 years when we got it, is actually not at all that bad. Because the only major system that didn't get replaced when we bought the thing was electric. Heh. I think current problems are more power cord failure than rewiring need though. And maybe outlet replacement need. Definitely outlet cover replacement need.
Anyway. Ech. I have a pile of work to do both day job and not, despite this persistent headache that will not quite go away. And yes, I did take painkillers this morning, and it seems to be persisting despite that. Stupid headache. Doesn't it know I have much writing and knitting to do?
