Mar. 12th, 2015 10:05 am... Oh god, Ferguson, why. Why would you do that.
And it says something about the state of policing in this country in general and in that part of the country in particular, that my first thought was another cop did it to frame the black community. Considering there's footage of SWAT teams setting fires to provoke or at least simulate riots I feel I am not unjustified in thinking this, even if it would be a damnfool thing to do on so many levels.
I'm so tired of this. I'm particularly tired, as the braintwin pointed out, of having very few people around me who aren't white and no one I can talk to about this, to put it very bluntly. I love my online friends to death, and my friends here, and with a few exceptions ... well. There's a long tirade I'm too tired to go into. It doesn't help that I'm white-passing latina, so it doesn't even come up unless I make a point of saying 'us' in circumstances. Which doesn't even always apply because, white-passing, I don't come in for a lot of the discrimination that non-white-passing latinas do.
(Not that my legal name helps with the white-passing, it is very obviously not white American, but people who spout off the casual bigotry to my fucking face never seem to notice that.)
Also also also I'm tired of this being a white-black thing in the media and in some areas of the social internet. Hey other people of color exist too, you know. Half of my childhood friends oh never fucking mind.
Anyway.
Oh jesus christ Terry Pratchett died.
Okay, I can't take more of this, I'm going to go pull the covers over my head, I'll be back with an update if anything gets done, otherwise I'll be rocking back and forth sobbing in a corner.
