Dec. 23rd, 2013 10:04 amOogh. No Irish this morning, I still haven't recovered from Yule Vigil this weekend. Either that or I'm coming down with a head cold. Still. I haven't figured out which yet. Fortunately I can go to bed early every night this week. And sleep in Wednesday if I so choose.
Leatherworking and writing are the order of the day, assuming I don't have that much shipping to do. Which might not be a safe assumption given the tenor of the outgoing orders today (difficult and full of card declines apparently) but at least things are going slow enough that there's time to finish some of the leather pouches for the boy's knucklebones. And writing, always writing. I still feel like I didn't get enough sleep last night, but I think I'm clear enough for some writing.
We caught the cat yesterday! Poor freaked out thing. It's still tiny and still black and we still don't have a sex for it yet, and we probably won't unless we go at it with leather gloves and hold it down to sex it. I think I'll let the Humane Alliance do that. Which isn't open until the 2nd of January, so, yeah, catching it NOW wasn't my brightest move ever, but at least this way we'll be sure whether or not it's adoptable. And if not, no biggie, snip, tip the ear so we know it's been snipped, release into the backyard, continue to feed. The boy says it's hissing at him when he comes close, but it hasn't hissed at me yet. So far the most aggressive it's gotten is after we basically followed it around the room for several minutes and after we had it cornered by one of the closets, so, yeah. It's not a very aggressive kitty. Just scared. We've left it food and water and litter and are keeping the door shut so it's quarantined from the others.
(Actually it also hasn't swiped at us with its claws yet/very much [It may have done to the boy after I left for work] which I find a bit strange. But it might also just be not an aggressive tempered cat, and freaked out of its mind.)
Spent most of the weekend recovering from Yule Vigil and watching Pirates of the Caribbean/Almost Human. After I finished the Lord of the Rings trilogy last week. This was not quite the brain-hurty experiment that I expected it was going to be, both actors are sufficiently different in Almost Human from their pirate/horse-lord selves that I'm not crossing them over. It's still fucking hilarious.
Right. Work, and at some point hopefully I'll get some Russian and... well, no, I left my Faust at home, I think. So at some point hopefully I'll get my Russian in, and when I get home, read over some German. Or just watch Lola Rennt again. I feel so exhausted sitting there staring at German movies and getting immersed in the audio might be my only speed right now.
